  1. Vet visit - sounds as if she is dribbling urine .. poor old girl.
  2. IF she is very constipated, liquid faeces will sneak past ..and yes, she will strain, because of a hard dry mass stuck there Vet check is my suggestion ....and if all ok- then feed her a diet with lots of fluid to help move the food on down. A gentle bulker/lubricant is psyllium husk .. soaked before feeding it forms a gel, which both provides some mass, and protects the bowel.... it is gentler than grain fibre or vegetables... IMO...and they only need a little bit :D Poor old girl
  3. Agreed- if he will get excited for a hug, or a treat , or an ear scratch - then why does he have to tug? I have never trained dogs for competition ...but have trained dogs to work sheep, guide dogs, and pets , and have never played tug with any of them P'raps they have been neglected ...
  4. Hamlet wasn't like that - he was tucked up and in some pain- but still strong. The vet checked for parvo before we got out of the car - and once that was clear, he was taken inside and put on a drip etc ....
  5. Hi ... :D did they check for parvo? parvo has a bloody smell to it :D My hamlet has had a foreign body . he ate leaves/sticks. They didn't show on Xray .. a lot of things don't - but the site of teh block was found using little barium beads... swallowed by the dog, which stop at point of blockage, THEN they show on Xray --- his op wasn't complicated . .but he was in hospital a few days, then home with a nice long row of stitches on total rest/ special food for some time . I slept on the floor with him for a few nights, as he was not allowed to jump onto anything/into the car ..and he healed well - with no ongoing problems . If he did eat the kid's toy .. then perhaps you need to build him a roofed enclosure .so toys are not accessible ? Hoping it's just a 'bug' which will go quickly! take care..he will be well looked after , I'm sure.
  6. ok- have another look at that photo measure the length of the ears, compared to the muzzle length... to me (not an artist) it seems as if the ears are around the same length as the muzzle ? Don't be scared- just have lots of paper, and scribble away ..practising is great :D Wish I could draw`.....anything!
  7. What a great tribute- he must have had some personality!
  8. lovely ! I like the 2nd and last ....if I had to choose :p
  9. Thankyou Hmm.. I had a look around that forum .. I think it is way too focussed on the technical aspects for me :D Thatnks anyway - I did enjoy viewing the wonderful photos!
  10. shame that you can't use permoxin . Hope you find something suitable!
  11. ...and perhaps, so proportions are correct- when you photograph your drawings- do it absolutely facing them straight The tilt of a page can make the drawing look skewed, even if it is all nice & straight
  12. Yep -- hard as it is you gotta practise!! And practise! Thanks, folks - I find the awkwardness of having to change lenses is a pain... I love my fuji - goes from supermacro to zoom in a second BUT the images i do get with the Canon ..the ones that work.. I like a lot! ;) like this one .. kids I met on the weekend (I normally don't 'do' people, but this camera/lens likes faces ) ...it looks better larger ,and in full res. this is straight off camera.
  13. when he was tiny & cute ... did you have him on your lap? did you pat him when he came to you /patted you with his chubby paw? Did you play with him, using your hands (with or without a toy? )
  14. Gosh - I used to spend a lot of days travelling thru the countryside ,with my dog , as part of my work. he lived in the car! Glad no one tackled me about it
