Sooty has "gotten to" me more than most of the other most fortunate oldies , for some reason ..maybe he lack of sight added to everything else ? Whatever ... each time a new comment pops up I am hoping it's more good news LMO .. Y'know, in the distant future, as you cross'that" rainbow ... you'll need security guards , cos there will be SO many wagging tails & lolling tongues awaiting you

Oh, bugga poor dog/s ... and poor little baby

take puppy to the vet . that is most important . get the vet to write the reasons for the eye popping...check vision, and then explain things to you .

Ohhhh... I am sorry you feel so unhappy . Are you absolutely sure you can't train yourself ? I am glad you told us ...These forums are SO valuable to folks just like you , who often feel as if they are way out of their depth with a new puppy .... . We can try & help you to stop feeling like the worst dog owner in the world ... you are not the first to do what you've done ... and that you feel so bad shows how much love you have for little Tuffy . If you really feel that you cannot trust yourself and are looking for another home ... then , please ask ANY questions here if you think the home might not be good enough for this little boy . Would you like to give it another try ? It has more chance of getting better the older he gets - truly ....

eek.. no , not with your crew!

Teddy ... he is obviously feeling so much better

I agree with Bundy... It does sound as if he's been scratching, and his nails have broken the skin. Check him for allergies/coat problems/fleas ?

At 16 wks , he will have lots of habits already formed ... and is used to sleeping a certain way/in certain places . This will take time . if yr kids complain ... let him sleep with them ;)

Depending on the actual users .... and infrastructure . Friends living in a similar area in the city use the same park ..it's fantastic ! I have been quite a few times ... with a core group of regulars .(most not friends outside of the dog park) Dogs get on well , have their own 'BFFs' and owners txt each other as to who's going to be there, and when ...that sort of thing. There are others who keep to themselves , which is fair enough ..and there is a fenced off area for either dogs who might not get on ..or dogs who want protection Some onwers bring chuckits etc ..and everyone shares sticks & balls , frisbees (and treats if allowed) it all seems a bit like a doggy heaven sometimes LOL On my walks, there are other dog parks where the same type of thing happens ,same groups of dogs/owners -all having a ball.

What is pup's routine , and how have you approached his toilet training ? Why? Dogs still need walking in Winter ..rain hail and shine , or snow . Have you tried using a cue word EVERY TIME he toilets .. don't chat to him ..just use the phrase or words.. make walks a little shorter ... use the word/s make walks a little shorter ..use the words ..over a couple of weeks ... When you got him ..what surface was he used to peeing on ? That can have a BIG impact on later choices . The dog feels a certain texture ..and his little brain says .."PEE HERE" ..and he does. then ..that place smells like a toilet ..and he thinks ...and he remembers ..and he feels ..and he PEES ... and he is relieved And so it goes . IF he does have an irritated bladder or similar, of course it will be harder for him to get any control ..so YES to a VET VISIT top rule out any nasties ....

ha, ha ..I've done that as well

I did enjoy . You find all sorts of goodies to share , boronia .. -
..and then, while I gave Bruce his tea , we did some of this ;)

Try & phone a clinic somewhere keep fred cool ..this is essential first aid . NO WALKING . keep him cool, with a good flow of cool air ... plenty to drink, but don't worry about food ... I'd be phoning the vet's out of hours number . We are not vets and therefore can't really help poor Fred.

The lads celebrated Aussie day in their own way ... I heard some barking ..then more barking ... it went on for a while , & sounded as if they had something bailed up , so I went to check . Roo/snake/ bunyip .... none of them any good It was actually a small mob of 5 sheep , and they were not moving anywhere!! The boys had them surrounded I took 10 points from Gryffindor for the barking , and gave each pup 50 points for initiative ! The Boss immediately got a phone call to let him know the news , and the lads each had a small peanut butter sandwich ;)

Bruce is doing Ok ..I guess he's used to it .... he just finds a cool spot & plonks . he has two feeds a day ... chaff & a mix which is actually a 'rabbit' mix .. but suitable for sheep as well . Of course he does prune fruit trees etc ..and will knock me down (literally) for a weetbix!
