Good news!

Can you tell us what sort of health problems does the breed have which could cause your dog to die prematurely? There are probably folks on here who have experience ,and can help you if you're a bit more specific

he,he,he Kirislin.. photoscape is only a tiny program ... takes a bit of navigating - there are lots of neat things to play with, but they are often hidden away DO have a play though!!It has a lot of quite powerful tools > I have 4 programs . Picasa - first stop for all images. photoscape lightroom photoshop if I'm desperate I use the free programs mostly

.. and perhaps for a lot of people, it would be. Some people though, need time to accept the idea of ending a dog's life - time to get used to the idea that a dog they love may have problems incompatible with a happy and stress free life ... problems with either health or temperament, depending on their situation Some folks need the support/confirmation of a professional - be it vet or behaviourist, before they can make their decision. I think this is a good thing - and should be encouraged.

This is why I,and others, have urged Mike to get an unbiased, professional assessment of his dog's temperament and problem behaviours. We can not make such a final judgement without seeing the dog. We can imagine... and go on experience ... but we are not there to see .

Hi First off I would be getting her vet checked again ( I presume she was checked when you first got her) have them check sight/hearing...and anything else :p is she interested n one particular toy/food/treat? Will she pay more attention to you if you have something like this?

PTS is a big decision ..and you need to assimilate the idea ... so please contact the folks mentioned on here (numerous times) They are trusted and recommended .. get Missy assessed, and then you will have support . D O L is a great place to share these sorts of journeys .... hang in there.

Mike- sorry... BUT I do NOT believe anyone can, sight unseen, GUARANTEE results results will be inevitable - yep there will be some results- but what sort is not clear. ;)

Which "Aussie Dog Whisperer" ? I know of two with that name .... have you checked out their websites? Yes and your appointment is not until September???? What you are dealing with requires an urgent assessment ...............

*nods* In over 50 years of multiple dog ownership .. we have never had a bone related problem. Our dogs eat any sort of (raw) meaty bone ..from beef to rabbit .

The vet is correct about her not being fully protected against disease until a while after her final vacc. The vet is correct in saying marrow from bones is VERY fatty - it can make some dogs ill. The vet is right in being worried that viruses may travel home with your sister's clothing from the RSPCA however .. parvo virus can be anywhere on the footpath/ vet's carpark... anywhere. Depending on the quality of the dry food , the vet is correct in saying that it contains all the nutrients. BUT... meaty bones which can be chewed and eaten are a good source of calcium and other things . Depending on teh size/breed of your pups , she may enjou whole RAW chicken wings/chicken frames.. lamb ribs,oxtails,roo tails ,turkey necks .... If your breeder suggested mince/kibble then that's what puppy is used to
