  1. sounds like you need to enrol at a dog obedience class ... that way you can be shown ways to handle your pup and you may also need to change some things in your dog's diet. What exactly does he eat? brand of dry food , treats, cuts of lamb/beef - any bones ..table scraps?
  2. They are just wonderful! Thanks I love #8
  3. if you fit a harness - she could sit in something like THIS
  4. an old style pram- not one of those pusher things . A rottie could fit in a 'proper' pram ! ;) go looking in opshops etc
  5. She may have a reason for looking the way she does, Kirty... some health problem /ginormous worm burden .. inability to digest /mouth/teeth/palate problem.....
  6. perhaps freeze them? then your dogs may chew them more thoroughly?
  7. Oh poor old fella . to you and your Mum. What a shock for her . Small comfort, but at least you do know what happened..
  8. He doesn't need to send a shirt for Harper... but maybe for you!
  9. The only cairn I've known well was the one my aunt had for many many years .. she was just wonderful , and put up with my aunt's odd way of interacting with dogs .That's a recommendation!! She was not easy to groom at home- but fine at the groomers. She was just a sweetie ...
  10. Thanks, Ams. The second photo is of a very old water tank ..about a metre or so square ..and of heavy gauge iron like THESE .
  11. No reason not to walk your other dog - IMO dogs need to learn to be alone at times.... You can still take your kelpie with you in the car
  12. I'm sorry I can't answer any of your questions .. but I hope your boy is able to live many more years with you , in good health , and that the surgery did get rid of the cancer.
  13. This is bringing out some lovely ,lovely shots, peoples here is one I just took ....
  14. .JPG] It was still minus 3 here at 9:30 am . My poor budgies had a skating rink in their water container
  15. Our pups are quickly sorted as to 'paddock dogs' or 'yard dogs' perhaps not by scientific methods .. but it seems to work ;) Not often we get an 'all rounder' ..most times they specialise. our yard dog pups seem very bold and active.. have low body sensitivity, and are noisy. They will happily jump/run onto/over anything, will get rolled/fall over, and just keep going . paddock dog candidates seem to be more settled.. will be calmer , quieter and aren't as forceful. They may use 'eye' rather than speed/pushiness ...and be 'marathon' runners, not 'sprinters' Both obviously have to think and anticipate ... and they enjoy whatever it is they are good at
  16. I would suggest another vet! there are two types of mange mites.. usually a skin scraping is done, and mites can then be viewed by the vet. I would hesitate to recommend anything for you to use until you have a DEFINITE diagnosis .
  17. What sort of mites? What did your vet suggest when the diagnosis was given?
  18. I'm a 'cat personality'really - but having dogs around is essential I very much enjoy being around/watching most animals , large & small . At one time or another I have had pets of most common species ..and a few others. At one stage when (In my little granny flat with a yard) .. I had 1 dog , 2 cats, 1 budgie, 2 mice, 2 bearded dragons, a long-necked tortoise, a tankful of fish, and a duck .(and a horse on agistment in the same suburb). My landlord was very forgiving!
  19. She will be feeling MUCH more comfortable
  20. Not 'silly' pup .. a pup behaving as he is programmed to. Pups/dogs bounce and wriggle when they are excited and happy....
  21. How wonderful is that suitcase one with his bum in the air! :)
