  1. K9angel It may be unwise to treat Zeuss unless you know exactly what the problem is ..... get his blood done- and then you will know exactly what his levels are. feeding him something now may well muck up any blood tests he has to have in the near future...and may not help. having read that site ... they seem confused as well ;) two VERY different conditions mentioned in this paragraph It does not make me confident :0
  2. To me ,( i may be wrong), this sounds like a " I can see something I'm not at all comfortable with .. I don't quite know what it is ..it may be unfriendly" vocalisation ..rather than 'warning you' .. Then when it comes closer and he can smell/see it's a human- he is all ready to be friendly
  3. She's very pretty Perhaps german shepherd X? Or kelpie? Bit hard to tell from close ups
  4. Good luck with the specialist app't. ..hope you get good news
  5. sounds a bit nasty ... poor girl. I hope you can get some answers soon.
  6. I buy mine online ..or at the vets . In our town it's not readily available elsewhere
  7. You need to get to the skin ..there are instructions on the bottles .You will need to buy a spray bottle to mix it in .
  8. using sprays on a dry coat ensures the spray is not further diluted by moisture in the coat ;)
  9. Hi You have a breed who is bred to be independent . You have a teenager. You have a mixed breed - so you can not be sure what other traits will pop up ;) can you put up a photo or two - we may be able to narrow down her ancestry for you? Is there any chance of you either getting in a trainer.. or attending classes somewhere? That would be great! As to training methods- there is no 'one size fits all' They all depend on the dog - the handler, and the circumstances. ALL training involves much work, and hours and hours of practice - not moving on to the next step until the first step is perfect ;) You may also want to post in the thread full of huskies ..the Spitz Thread CLICK HERE
  10. Oh yes- we love 'soccer' here !
  11. This. There is absolutely NO need for a pup/dog to mouth a human., IMO .
  12. I like it .. You certainly did well to catch the acttion!! I have trouble doing that Personally i feel a bit more detail around the head would really make it stand out ...good catch!!
  13. Just wondering how he's doing ..
  14. yep - if you are an absolute novice - you owe it to your dog, her future progeny and the BREED to be as informed as you can be. Asking on here is great , BUT you would be well served checking out good responsible breeders..and , as said, getting a mentor. There is SO much to learn about . You really should have started these questions shortly after you got your puppy ;) It is not something you learn in a month or two. The first question you need to answer..is WHY does this bitch need to go thru the trauma of breeding? What does she have in the way of structure/temperament/health which is so good that it should be passed on? What is it in her bloodlines (on both sides) which should be perpetuated ? ;)
  15. Thanks for the update, Olivebaby ... go slowly and keep things calm...
  16. So - has he been vet checked? he may have an ear infection or something... using powder every day is not ideal .. IMO. he will be breathing it in all the time .. it will dry his skin/coat , and it's best to find the source of teh smell, rather than cover it up. IF it is just his normal smell... perhaps you need to think about a beautifully easy to look after ..hardly a smell, type dog , like a whippet they are just the cleanest ,most gorgeous dogs . You are, however going to come against various smells, whatever dog you get . Cats don't smell
  17. There is some good useful info/facts about dead bats/Lyssavirus if you click here, on SCRIBBLYGUM . Also a couple of links HERE
  18. I hope things start to improve ... and that you can keep the urine flowing!
  19. if it were me - I'd just feed them normal food - but a HALF of what they are currently getting easy .
  20. Vet visit tomorrow . I wouldn't muck about .... How often is he urinating.... and do you have to have him in a sling..or is he just wetting as he lies there? How long did he spend in hospital? Perhaps he managed to poo there- but just hasn't gone since he came home?
  21. :) he looks big for 6 weeks ..but not overweight . Very cute sleeping pic!
  22. if you can feel his ribs- he should not be overweight ....
