[quote they should not have put your pup under, knowing that there was only one visible testicle and they would need to investigate further. At the very least , I'd be making sure that you didn;t have to pay for any additional surgery, especially another GA, as it should all have been done at the one time, including an ultrasound prior to putting the pup under. GA's aren't kind on a dogs body but I think you have been left with no option, other than to put him under again and have the surgery completed, if they manage to locate the other. He could well have been born with one testicle.

And he probably did however it is not an acceptable behaviour by dogs living closely with humans. ..same as it is not kindly looked upon if we punch all those who we think deserve it . ;) -

So ? consult someone who CAN see what's happening, and do things properly . Sometimes when we are too close, we can not see all the problems/possibilities. A fresh pair of eyes and and much experience can help. -

and while that can be a terrific thing - and makes us feel terrific it can be detrimental to the dog when , one day, we are ill, or have to go away , and dog does not have us there...... It makes us feel good when our dog only listens to us- only has eyes for us ... but it can be very hard on the dog concerned -
poor pup Could it have been a Cane Toad? Hope he's OK.

Dog Pees On People I Don't Like...

..IF your dog feels threatened /uncomfortable by these people .. OR if he is feeling a bit aggro , then having power taken away /his flight path removed by being on leash MAY not be the right thing to do. Playing around with all sorts of fixes might help - or it might mean even more confusion/stress for your dog ...and a worse outcome. *broken record* contact a recommended professional. Please. -

Ok .. you have trained your dog to do stuff... that's good. BUT his running away , his peeing, his leaning, his 50/50 recall ..all sorts of things are suggesting to me that help is needed. You have also said "What else can I do?" "Who knows why he does that/" well, that is why people enlist the services of trained professionals!! professionals who will observe your dog at home, with you. professionals who will then be able to teach YOU behaviours and strategies to make your family a much more even functioning one ..and also help your dog smooth out all his responses, instead of what's happening now . They won't ruin what you & your dog have ..they will help you make it BETTER! -

and if you do NOT know why he is doing it - how can you stop him? To stop him .. not just prevent him /temporarily distract him , you need to find out what's going on with him .... -

;) another really good reason for getting professional advice. As I don't think dogs can equate human fingers to dog toes, I would suggest it is not 'copying' as we know it. Allergies are most common cause of feet/toe nibbling .. also anxiety can cause a dog to chew/suck . It's great having a close bond with a dog - however we have to learn more of how our feelings/moods/actions affect our dog's mental health too. Trust me - been there, done that . -

to be fair - your dog would be much better off if, by working with a good trainer, you learn the skills to help you both do this, and help educate your dog.Locking him away isn't really teaching either of you skills in how to handle situations ;) -
They are good mates, these two. yes, it was a photo - until it ended up in photoscape ;)

Keeping Dog's Teeth Clean
persephone replied to lovemyrottie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi, and welcome. Lots of raw meaty bones!! How old is your pup? chicken carcasses , turkey wings, turkey necks, lamb ribs, roo tails .... all those yummy non-weight bearing bones! Size is important - larger meaty bones make a meal the dog needs to work at .. gives them a good meal, entertainment, endorphins and clean teeth! Bones with meat on are desired, and then the dog spends many minutes gnawing with the sides of those molars.. thus scrubbing his teeth! Simple crunching does not do it - that "lie down-sideways hard work gnawing" is what does a good job -

You and he need to do some work with a good trainer . This behaviour is not desirable. -

I would suggest you get a trainer's help - socially unacceptable behaviour ..and it does need remedying ASAP. Your boy does need to learn some self control. And, yes, dogs do know by your body language/voice tones, etc when you are wary /scared/angry in a situation..or with people..... but you still need to exert your leadership ..and not let them make the decisions . I used to have a bit of a problem with my BIG boy, Kieran . He would growl at /nip drunk men and teenage hoons . In some instances I was very glad of this ... but of course I couldn't let him just do it ! We did a LOT of work together to even things out - both my involuntary reactions, and his taking control. -
Oh, Kirty, I am sorry . You have done the only thing , given the choices. She was loved and thought about, and much cared for ..don't feel guilty . Run fast with all those others , now , Nessie

You'll get good ideas here - however, have you contacted the breeder of your bitch? They are the ones who know their dogs, and will be full of info Starting off- it's great to have a mentor - someone who personally knows your breed, and ..it's even better if they know your lines ... it's really nice to know you can phone someone "ho's been there, done that" a lot ..and has good practices to fall back on ;)

plain white vinegar - and lots of it don't rinse off .
-
I will also advise feed them totally separate keep children away from them when feeding consult a recommended behaviourist...ask on here if you need names Hope it's sorted quickly .

These drugs would no doubt be processed somewhat differently in a canine body . and someone just 'trying one' to see what happens is probably not wise . Which is why a professional should be consulted- to prescribe the correct training and/or medication.
