  2. Sorry about Smegel usually it's the other way 'round ..cats can fight it better than dogs. Glad to hear that Jess is on the improve ! Thanks for the update
  3. but it needs to be good raspberry cordial..not just artificial red sugary stuff ;)It's the raspberry that does the trick (works on humans and pigs, too!)
  4. I do not think a 12 week old pup will be at all happy or comfortable in a cardboard box .....and may well hurt itself trying to jump out.
  5. use a flea bomb inside It will do floors etc . They work really well!
  6. Doesn't sound as if those methods fit with today's approach Is there a regulatory body or anywhere where your observations can be reported?
  7. That's encouraging ... hope all her internal organs are functioning ok. fingers crossed.
  8. no to any dog being allowed to do that, really....
  9. just my 2c worth.... why not look at short coated breeds? easier to keep cool/search for ticks/groom . Large dogs take up extra room in cars ..and cost more in medications/boarding etc.
  10. sending thoughts ..that's a very long time without help , poor little girl.
  11. Phew!! What a worry . I do hope she sleeps well tonight, (and you also ) healing thoughts sent.
  12. yep .. maybe instead of one little obedience session each day .. he has two ..just 5 minutes .. but mental exercise is very tiring! also .. as that time approaches .. pull out a special toy ..a soccer ball, or juice bottle with a few bits of kibble inside ... or a cardboard carton .. something he can kick around . If he learns that when he gets excited you will take him for a walk...then heaven help you!! :p (and he probably has already learnt it
  13. make sure the crate is where you can see her and pat her and talk to her ..actually if she is that stressed, I'd be tempted to phone the vet and ask if she can be on a short lead, sitting with you ..better than a crate when you are there..as she will be content with you at her side ? Bones/kongs/iceblocks... sorry - hope all goes well tonight .
  14. Same here! Far too confusing. It got me as well !
  15. dogs don't sweat all over their skin like we do .. only their feet ....and plain leather, being natural , is reasonably absorbent, while imitation leather isn't at all.
  16. that's for longish coated dogs that lose hair all round where the collar flattens/rubs it . AFAIK.
  17. Does she get wet often? Sometimes the thicker part where hangs the tag/buckles etc, if damp can be irritating to skin folds under the neck .
  18. I tend to agree - his immune system is currently fighting whatever this rash is ..having a vaccine to cope with as well is perhaps a lot.
