  1. the gorgeous Cooper still gives me an odd feeling .. he's too human- looking
  2. Oh OK. that makes a difference. Spray your glyphosate one morning ... then late afternoon .. use sprinklers/hoses to soak the sprayed area thoroughly ..removing the stuff from rocks etc...not just a sprinkle. It is rainfast after about 6 hrs.
  3. by doing that any habitat for insects/frogs/birds is gone forever.. Got photos? Thought of planting that area with an indigenous grass or something? Maybe put gravel down ..rake it, and weeds are dislodged .
  4. re: weeds in paving... if there's not a yard full - then simple boiling water poured on weeds .. or VERY salty water poured directly onto them should help Do this at a time when you are sure no frogs are hiding .. and there is no nasty residue for them. Glyphosate (, rather, the surfactant) is not kind to frogs.Apart from general toxicity, Surfactants will remove the protective layer on a frog's skin ..and leave the skin unprotected.
  5. I guess you mean caltrop ? You need to get that when very small before it flowers ..or during , otherwise the prickles(seeds) will make the yard a very uncomfortable place for any dog/person to walk!! Bloody awful thing It is named after shaped iron spikes that were scattered along paths in forests etc to get stuck in horses' feet and slow up soldiers/armies/outlaws in pursuit! By all means use glyphosate on the plants .. preferably the day after a good watering ,,and do it tea time, or later .. then let dogs out as normal next day . use a 'wand' or a small sprayer..and target individual plants ..as glyphosate kills everything. I shovel it out ,here.. just slide a small sharb blade under the ground so roots are cut. problem solved . We don't have lawn, which makes it easier ;)
  6. there are some very cute`puppies on this page !
  7. warm the nozzle first make it a training thing.. with a treat for being still, and a treat immediately drops are deposited/rubbed in . Sitting is preferable , obviously, so the drops don't run out when dog is flipped over ;) practice a couple times a day without the drops... sit/treat. Fiddle with ear .. insert finger slightly /treat, rub ear/treat. repeat on other side It becomes tolerable .
  8. ;) which is why my dogs get opshop blankets etc.. then they are discarded after some time
  9. If she is actually showing bare hairless skin - a vet visit might be in order .
  10. Wishing your gorgeous old girl all the best for her op
  11. a mostly wedding and food one ,belonging to a friend of mine. a wildlife one - Andy Rouse an australian one - steve parrish That's all
  12. A vet visit as soon as possible after collecting a pup is what I recommend to people That way , a check can be done - vet will see pup in a good and healthy state first - with no ouchie needles or anything ..and if you ask for a thorough check including teeth/bite, testicles, dewclaws etc .. then anything out of the ordinary can be noted and you can ask your breeder. The breeder 'should' give you all sorts of information pertaining to feeding, vaccinations, general health care , and more specific things. They may also give you some of the food they use to help settle pup in
  13. Rotten Job- but someone's gotta do it :p :)
  14. What daily walking/training does she get? Sounds like she really needs something to do !
  15. It's not just that 'trying to wag tail/turn inside out with joy/walk in a straightlineatthesametime' walk? that often ends up with a curvy dog
  16. teela - 'alpha rolls' are when a human forcibly grabs their dog and pushes/rolls it over on its side/back - holding it there,as a form of discipline. it is NOT teaching dogs to play dead, or present a body area for treatment :)
  17. Beardies can be very bouncy , yes! Bouv's are not for everyone .. but can be just lovely.
  18. Not large, by any means , but One I would love if I ever had the money/opportunity LAGOTTO have a look HERE at the breed`sub-forums for heaps of info on different breeds Good luck with teh search.
  19. Vet Check? At his age, there may be reasons he can not hang on all night anymore.... if he has no bladder/prostate etc problems , and is not drinking excessively , then you can look at options.
  20. you may want to write this in a manner which indicates that they are dogs ....
