Honestly, if one went by some of those lists .. no one would have any green in their yards - except painted concrete use a flash, maybe, and post some pics of the suspect plants then go along and cut off the bits poking thru your fence ....

Hi.. Oh.. Ok. I was going to suggest you have your older dog thoroughly health checked... a dog that loses its playfulness could be unwell.. rather than bored. Digging holes..especially if he lies in them could mean he is trying to get cool.... A bored dog , IMO would be more likely to want to play lots..be racing around, chewing, jumping.... finding things to do... I feel you have done the impulse buy thing for the wrong reason ... Buying a puppy for another dog when you are not sure if that's what he needs . Your dog may be much happier/content /interested if his favourite human spent 20 min each day doing tricks etc with him ;)

It's good that you are looking at things which may work Hopefully, with a decent trainer, and some personal help in understanding what is happening, and why .. you will not need much more than a flat or a chain collar, and some toned and timed response times, coupled with a good reward system Hope you find someone who can help .

Some do ... some which are not walked often enough on hard surfaces don't. Dogs with pale pads sometimes feel the heat on pads more , if our working dogs are anything to go by . When training GD's years ago, we never walked, or encouraged owners to work, on hot asphalt . Concrete is much 'cooler' ..asphalt can be extremely uncomfortable .

Please consult a professional, and get help with this one ..it would be awful if a mistake was made and something worse happened . Any aggression /fear at this level is best assessed by a good trainer/behaviourist.
