  1. and photos of her gorgeous smile :) She may be bent & broken... but she is a happy girl now .
  2. KC is spread by droplets from nose/mouth during coughing, etc ... so Coco has probably been exposed already . It can last up to 3 weeks .. so , if you need to keep them seperate, your poor dogs will not be happy being outside all that time It is a virus .. like tracheitis in humans ..so avoid walking on collars which press on their throats - as it may make them cough more . I agree with Kirty's post ,and also recommend seeing a different vet and getting a good check .
  3. They both could indeed have kennel cough.... not all dogs cough all the time ..and kennel cough can be very much like a dry reach, with froth.... The constipation is a worry - hopefully the pumpkin will help , and I hope your vet gives you some answers tomorrow.
  4. Aaaawwww..she looks so happy , and much healthier! You have done a great job!
  5. Cot mattress/old doona/mattress protector in a doona cover ..
  6. I agree with this .... jane harper is a name mentioned on here a lot for folks in QLD ... perhaps contact her and ask her help?
  7. I hope you have found a vet who will help her ..I think it sounds as if she needs to be checked over properly ....not diagnosed over the phone .Depending on the product, it could be a very nasty thing to have in a gut... Hopefully she will be OK soon.
  8. my cats do not jump on tables or benches.. . Oh- I lie ... if I'm outside at night, Mr/W will sit on the draining board and look out the kitchen window ...:). I would be most unhappy if I had cats/dogs who did that ..... food stealing has happened a few times, but not many.(it is usually a cooling cake,or dog's meat left on sink) I can be eating something in the lounge..get up, leave a plate on the arm of a chair/couch ..and it will all still be there when I come back :) The grey plastic snap traps make a good noise, and won't hurt a dog ...
  9. That is a sad thing indeed, to lose her at that age ..
  10. A couple of ours pick their own tomatoes ..(but I wish they would NOT just chew off the halves poking thru the fence ..)
  11. I do realise about grapes :) Our dogs love them ... and have always eaten them, but for a couple of years I haven't let them pick their own like they used to.
  12. the hoons may do this, and consider their dogs very expendable .. and I hate seeing it . That's how I got my Kieran .. he was dumped in the scrub by poachers , as he was too timid (he was 8 weeks old..we found out the story later on thru the grapevine )but anyone who is serious about hunting feral- pest -in plague proportion- pigs needs to have bomb proof , responsive dogs. They need dogs who are safe around stock and wildlife , as they hunt in areas where permission is required for access, and property owners/managers are not going to grant permission to idiots with uncontrollable dogs. There are government owned areas near me ..and private properties where firearms are not allowed , so the hunter goes in with dogs and knives . His dogs are healthy, and wear good protection, gps trackers and flashing lights for night time .
  13. apple, banana, carrot, mango, pears, nashis, grapes, capsicum, strawberries, tomatoes, peas, beans, mulberries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, watermelon..
  14. Haven't housetrained a pup for ages ... but my pups get used to being outside in the rain..walking or toileting ... it's just something they have to do ..no excuses :p
  15. :) My favourite dog-human ! Nice pics !
  16. ..and why would she eat kibble if she knows there's chicken wing on offer ;) ? An ear infection which has had 20 days of treatment maybe needs another pair of eyes looking at it , IMO.
  17. Poor girl ..earache will certainly make her feel bad Hopefully they have now treated it differently .
  18. We have working sheep dogs ..and they are very used to being told what to do ..whether its' "Go and have a pee".. "have a swim" ...or commands around the sheep. Most folks out this way always let their dogs off the chain or out of a run and tell them to "toilet" ..in various forms of language ;) It is a necessary thing ..as no one enjoys dogs peeing in the backs of utes , or stopping to pee/poo when you send them out in a hurry to catch a straggler or stop bolting sheep ! They need to be emptied out and ready to go :) LOL I just remembered back around 45 years ago, my Pop's sheepdogs ..one in particular. Now Pop was old school.. his dogs were tough, and had more rough treatment than nice dinners ..but they lived long productive working lives .. When Pop told them to go pee before heading off to work ..they would ..and one especially would then look at Pop, who'd say .."well, you'd better go again" ..and so , up would go the hind leg ,and another post would be decorated ..this would go for ages..and as kids, we thought it was great fun :)
