  1. She does have the most wonderful face ..and she looks so happy! Thankyou. For those who missed the first thread it's HERE
  2. :) :) Thank you for the good update ! Looking forward to pictures of the new and improved and larger Oscar ;)
  3. ;) a singleton prince/princess ... aaaahhh . Will mum share fresh meat with pup? Sometimes if Mum is chewing on a big bone ..then it seems a pretty good option to a pup ...
  4. That is a very disappointing thing to read , and certainly not what I would have expected from a 'professional'. How many posts do we see on here where dogs in dog parks have attacked dogs/pups ? Bear is naturally larger and older ..and he already 'knows his place' ..it is above a baby puppy . Being a puppy himself, he will naturally gravitate to floppy ears etc .. and perhaps does need work on bite inhibition that he missed out on while at the breeders . I hope that very soon you can obtain the services of another trainer .
  5. I have found their predator instincts cut in really fast when offered fresh bloody mince ..or a very large very meaty roo tailbone or marrowbone to suck/chew .I got sick of pups being covered in slop , and found this much easier :)
  6. This is all I do, basically .., also no verbal command . but after some time of picking up paw, I just tap gently behind the wrist , as a reminder, whilst still holding out the other hand . :) No treat though, just praise . They learn quite quickly , too!
  7. Thanks for the positive-sounding update :) keep us posted on progress ..and enjoy the new parent stuff !
  8. Have a look at the Panasonic Lumix range - their lens quality is excellent!

  13. :) Glad it's started off so well . We do need photos ..........
  14. That poor lady - I hope she recovers That was a horrible shock
  15. Poor tess... I am hoping that it is just taking extra time as she was so very ill .. a big infection like that , and surgery - the body gets a huge shock. Lots of good fresh food , maybe some extra vitamins , and hopefully she will heal well :)
  16. Agree -my dogs would do the same .. but this isn't your dog, or mine . this dog did have a child draped over her , which makes running away difficult - and she did not bite. and I agree with greyt's post ..
  17. Welcome - you have an interesting pair of dogs :) A laundry for hours and hours is a pretty boring and sterile environment for a very smart and active breed puppy .. perhaps leave puppy outside, and older dog inside ? IMO, at 4 mths pups need to be running and sniffing and digging and rolling and watching birds & clouds . I would hesitate to suggest you leave a no bark collar on a puppy , especially as pup may well be barking thru anxiety /boredom . Hopefully someone will come along with a suggestion that suits ...
  18. Sounds like you have a nice family :) you might get some ideas/explanations from stuff in this ebook CLICK HERE
  19. Don't laugh.. back in the 'old days ' bodies out bush here always had to be well covered or locked away somewhere before the cats found them ....
  20. A very helpful post from mita :) altho I have reservations about this , being there is a small dog also in the yard . I think adding a high value treat might not be ideal...
  21. Which is why we recommend you a trainer to come to your home and work with you ;)
