Welcome :) 6 weeks is very young to be away from their mum - is there a reason they were sold at that age ? this is from the DOGS NSW page I have a few links to other threads dealing with raising littermates/two pups :) You might get some help from them. LINK LINK I am also not sure about the feeding .. what are they being fed?

The thing is, Allie is almost 6 months old ..and already knows what's what ! :) -

Widget will often bring a frog inside when she goes to bed They are not hurt ...she holds them in her mouth ..I don't see them, but see her mouth a bit puffy ... she will spit them out , and I wash them off in clean water before putting them back outside ...... poor frogs .

Most of our dogs like/love our cats :) They also love hunting feral cats ...but usually have to learn what's needed. A few nights ago, I went to put Allie, a 6 mth old, who has done no hunting yet, to bed, and could hear her barking some way away from the house . I called , and eventually she came ..but wanted to go back again, so I went with her. She ran to one spot, put the nose down, hackles up , and was tracking/growling.. so I presumed there was a strange cat ... Anyway, last night I could hear her barking /growling, went out with a strong torch, and asked her what was there..she kept on dashing to the fig tree, and barking/growling ... and eventually dashed in, and , a (smallish) feral cat erupted from under the tree and made its escape...as I didn't have my shotgun with me ,, and it didn't go up a tree . She will be a very useful little dog :) The love of Allie's life has always been Dougal , a big white/ginger cat .... she just adores him..and is literally all over him when she sees him ..poor Doogie. he won't ever sock her hard enough to discourage her , so just lies there like a big blob, while she whines and licks and rubs on him ..and occasionally they will wrestle (he's bigger than her ) I've not seen one of our pups so focussed on the ferals ... if she is as focussed on sheep work , she will be brilliant! :p ..or else she will be a professional feral cat hunter! here she is asleep with her favourite toy ..a cat;)

Hopefully a vet visit has been done, and everything's ok.

Good for you in doing some research!! :) Unfortunately, dogs don't normally come pre programmed to not dig, not bark, etc. All those things are things which the humans educate the puppies in .... most dogs will dig/bark/run/show interest in chooks/birds, and it is up to teh owners to understand what is happening , why it happens, and how to re direct the behaviour :) To help understand your circumstances a bit more.... What do you call "Low" maintenance? Where will dog be sleeping? How long will dog be trained/walked each day?

I am glad that he has at least spoken with a vet . Hopefully there will be a happy ending :)

I was wondering how the gorgeous Pearl is going ???

*nods* and without any idea of the father/s .. there could well be problems with different sized puppies and a tiny mum .

The bitch may have other pups stuck, and be still in labour!! Bitches often don't settle and feed pups until they have finished whelping ... being so young, she possibly is not at all sure what's happening , poor little girl. She needs to be seen by a vet now ... before it's too late, and she ends up with big problems

Thanks for sharing that :) So much snow! :) I like their dog run setup ... guess the snow insulates their kennels, and with straw as bedding, they'd be quite comfortable :)

At one stage my older dogs had dentastix daily ... I prefer raw to feed.. but a lot of folks don't .. and dentastix are clean if chewed in a house , and have no sharp bits to be of concern... It's all a matter of balance ;)

Ohh nekh .. that is just an awful happening :( Run free and slobber, Skoota.

I would advise contacting a recommended behaviourist .. ask on here for the name of a good person. Talk with them, get them to see your dogs, and your home, and then see what they suggest about what happens when you get a puppy. My concern is that dog's fearful aggression..and the redirected aggression. Not a good thing. Also, A new BC pup will rapidly grow larger and be much more bouncy than the two small dogs ...perhaps leading to injuries either in play , or in confrontations.poor Henry will be unable to properly escape this new pup , and I imagine it will really stress him out Please get some good professional advice now (not just from Obedience club..they don't see the dogs at home ;) ) ..and hopefully then you will have a much better idea of how to approach things.

R I P Valentino .. he looks so dignified in that photo :)

Why not ask the breeder what they meant?A decent breeder would have given you info on food etc .... there are lots of puppy foods out there!! How old is the puppy? What have you been feeding the pup ?
-
It is a worry You might want to have a read of this LINK to see what other things might help ... and perhaps look at gradually changing your boy over to a fresh raw diet ? LINK with info.

most dogs (and humans) have a population of species specific demodex ..which live quietly on skin along with other micro organisms, but it is when immune systems fail that these mites can proliferate, and then , any damage they cause can become infected with staph etc. It's sad when breeding appears to be done at the expense of health and strength

You could try some diluted lavender essential oil?
