Veterinary Negligence/malpractice
persephone replied to Freia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi - I've re read your post a few times now ...and IMO the problem seems to be .......just humans... With Freia .. AFAIK urinary tract infections aren't a common symptom of a liver shunt , so there was no real reason for a vet to be looking for that ...and as explained it isn't something easily /commonly tested for. With jack ...perhaps the vet was just going on your supposition of toothache ? Owners are often the ones who know their pet better than anyone, and can spot a problem , esp a recurring one . perhaps the vet did concentrate his examination a bit much on the area you thought was causing pain...but looking at it from a different angle ..at least the vet DID spend time checking out your hypothesis ! Some vets will just give a very cursory check A new vet will obviously make you happy ... just ensure they get all the histories , and I hope your next vet visits are happy ones! :) -
When they come , tell them he's over at the doggy spa ..having a massage for his arthritis :p :p

Sago might help him ..it is a starchy product made from the pith of a palm tree. ..so no grain. When cooked up, it is a bit like lumpy glue :p -
Just look at those faces! Well done :)

Lovely photos .... Lions are def. my favourite .. were the giraffe trying to graze on almost nothing , or at a salt lick?...... Great photo, if a bit sad .... I am very envious of lion cub cuddles!!

Perforated Intestine - Update: Peritonitis

Oh Run free & smiling over the bridge, Lola . -
I collect these things like some folks collect shoes! This FREE one has apparently been around for a while ..but if you ONLY want to do adjustments/cropping/redeye .. it is really fast and easy!! (sliders..and not heaps of tools) Results are pretty good :) LINK The full version with 30 day free trial has heaps of options for those who enjoy lots of control over exposure/colour/detail. Not many 'effects' to clog up the works either LINK both are easy and clean to use...I love the workspace - where original and working versions are side by side , and there is lots of info if you mouse -over tools, etc.

Awww he looks in good condition ..nice clean teeth etc . Lucky boy!! Well done :) :)

Kirislin ..yes, there is a little halo ..but apart from that, it must be a good pic, as it made me feel motion sick :p :)
-
:) love the happy chappy /chapette pic ... On my screen a lot of detail has been lost in teh dog's body ... in the first shot, rib cage curves, and hair detail can be seen .... it seems to be much less visible in the others?

Hope the news is good . -
I LOOOVE picasa, BUT when first installed, you need to tell it in no uncertain terms what folders to search , and when...otherwise it madly rushes about, grabbing every image on your computer, and storing copies neatly in its filing system :p This scares the pants off most new users !

rainy , there are some fairly simple and free programs you can download .... That's mostly what i use :) PAINT.NET is a good one :)

Definitely contact the breeder ! They should be advised, for a few reasons . best of luck with it. keep us posted .

Hi .. getting a pup is exciting, and also means lots of learning for YOU :) crates can be useful overnight , and for short periods during the day , but are not a good idea as a long term thing puppies need to run & play & be outside and learn quickly to toilet outdoors . There are puppy pens which are great - and a crate should be a puppy's 'den'/bed . There is lots of discussion on using crates . (I have never used a crate , and have had quite a few pups inside), but I can see how they would be very useful in some situations :) The following LINKS have much info for you ... What sort of pup are you getting? How old? Where has it been living/toileting at the breeders? LINK LINK LINK

My Other Bititch Got In With Puppies Not Belonging To Her
persephone replied to mini girl's topic in Breeders Community
Why don't you take 'mum' out for a car ride? providing pups have another heat source ..they will be fine for 20 mins or so , and 'mum' will get a change of scenery, and something else to think about :) -
Awwww Thankyou :)

..and , unfortunately, those in the same position may not be managing their own problem successfully ... Any case where a dog has actually bitten a child is serious..and as said, no one here can see the body language of the dog, the interactions between dog & baby , or family dynamics. This makes any advice purely guess work , which is not ideal. yes behaviourists are not cheap , however, if someone is struggling with any form of aggression in a dog, there is not much option.

I think it has to be more defined than bracketing .... ..... and photoshop does it too :) (I have CS3) Take photos. Open all 3/4/5. go to "file". scroll down to 'automate'. click "merge to HDR "...then watch & wait..and do final adjusts.
