1. Yep :) Don't put one on him Honestly, if a young healthy dog has suitable bedding into which it can burrow/make a little nest/igloo, and is out of drafts , they should be warm enough. The best way to conserve body heat is to have a cocoon of bedding ... and a flat mattress with a couple of blankets just doesn't make the same shape... usually. :)if he's in a crate..then cover teh crate fully - esp near the floor where drafts get in ...maybe even give him newspaper ...lots ...that he can shred and nest in?
2.
same reason lots and lots of things are not available in that stupidmarket anymore, probably. ... Sorry, can't help sourcing any for you
3. I thought Council had to declare dog a nuisance before it can be legally debarked? well, that is what I understood from this, anyway.... Legalese
4. That sounds a good plan, pebbles.
5. Hi.... Debarking ..it is AFAIK only to be performed after all other methods fail, and the dog is at risk of being put to sleep because of teh barking which can not be stopped by training/management means. There are lots of things to consider ... Do you have any idea of why your dog barks? is there a time or place or situation? Does she bark when inside with you, or only outside? Does she bark on your daily walks/at the park? Does she bark when playing with other dogs? What training things have you tried ...we may be able to help before you battle bureaucracy ...here is a link to explain it a bit more http://www.dpi.vic.gov.au/agriculture/about-agriculture/legislation-regulation/animal-welfare-legislation/codes-of-practice-animal-welfare/debarking-of-dogs
6. yep bunnings/mitre 10 ..or even better, if there is a remnant little old hardware store anywhere... they may help you do it :)
7. That's a good idea! may I just tell you what I noticed while watching? The swivel circle often ended with a hind foot on the junction of pavers/grass..and there was a bit of twisting/loss of balance ...any joint weakness might be exacerbated... I was getting anxious that someone would slip or let go accidentally and crack something on the hard paving A spring and swivel clip would certainly add some more interest ...and give them even more fun! Well Done :D
8. That last one looks fine in my eyes :) That poor boy knows not how many females have been eyeing him for hours .... :p It is a terrific capture!!
9. R I P henry .. you loved him ..and that's what counts.
10. Oops..I think I was typing as you posted, Clyde ..good point, I guess
11. Skully - have you thought of it from her point of view? She's a shortie, and young/inexperienced, and has NO idea what/who is on teh other side of teh fence! Not sure if it would work, but have you considered maybe speaking with neighbours/workmen,arming yourself with yummy stuff and taking her next door , where she can see that it is just silly humans making big noise ? Obviously keep a 'safe' distance ..don't force her near scary things ..but just let her have a look/sniff/listen , and see if that helps?
12. What good boy to come home :)
13. http://www.sagelighteditor.com/ dodge/burn brush.... I tried to put more detail in his hand as well....
14. No more cropping ... I love the colours:) All I'd think about (and not really know how to change) is all the highlight/bright bits on the car L of image. that seems to catch my eye first , and detract a bit from the gorgeous boy and dog :)
15. padraic .. have you started a new thread in the training forum? That may be easiest .... then all your questions etc are in one place :)
16. For me, I notice threads with specific things .... eg My dog is..... opening teh fridge and stealing steak can anyone help? or : 'need recommendations for xyz in ...jobsville' . - that sort of thing.
17. I had a dog with multiple allergies and he was on prednil for most of his 12 yr life .. dose was manipulated .....
18. Me ? I ask on D O L :D !!!!! D O L has such a wide range of members , and they include trainers/behaviourists. Not sure what I'd do if there was no D O L ... :p Guess if D O L wasn't here, I would start by asking instructors at dog clubs etc..... and work on from there . I certainly wouldn't just 'cold call' people, though.
