An allergy would more than likely affect both eyes , I think. Ok..as your vet has already said she does not know what is causing it ..now is a good time to find a good eye vet :) If you ask ..maybe a separate thread ..I know there are folks here who have used ones in vic, and may recommend them for you.

The Heart Stopped Beating On Another 4 Legged Angel Last Night

R I P old fella .... bel. -
Did your vet have any ideas? yes, there are quite a few things which cause recurring conjunctivitis ... and are best diagnosed by a vet good with eyes, or an eye specialist . depending on breed , too, there are some things a vet can check. eyes are precious and delicate , and can suffer greatly from long lasting problems ....so if your current vet is no help, find someone else . Hope your dog is 'bright eyed & bushy tailed' soon :)

I Finally Made My Own Raw Food
persephone replied to mumtoshelley's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
IMO ,one cup of rice , spread between multiple dogs , over a few days is not much rice ,and is probably a sensible addition in this cool weather. Broccoli, AFAIK, is a good addition in small amounts (less than 5%) larger amounts may lead to problems. Garlic in larger amounts can, like onion cause problems like anaemia ...they don't really need it in their meal - meat makes it tasty enough ..or a bit of sardine oil :) -
You have some nice flowers :) Seems you & the camera haven't yet agreed what you need to be in focus :p I know that problem! One thing I do when disappointment gets too much ... is breathe...find something which does NOT sway in the wind, or wobble when touched .. go to jpeg setting and take a dozen or so photos ..using different focus points ...then have a look at what worked best for you . Focus is the thing that lets me down ...and all the post production can't really fix it . I love the bokeh in this one, and the nice sharp yellow flowers :) http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y220/tdierikx/RAW%20playaround/IMG_3656.jpg

How Long Does It Take To Digest Food?

If you are sure - then yes, I would suggest some concern, and a vet visit , maybe .....if are you sure no one else has fed her - table scraps or something.... -
Thinking of his family ..it's been a long hard slog

Hi... poor Alfie. he doesn't need veges, really- they are just filler. If he wants to feed fresh/raw, then ox cheek and lamb are good meats with a more fat on/in. Whole eggs , and sardines are some things I can think of. if he is used to kibble ..then get your son to buy a very high quality one... a working dog type formula .. containing lots of calories. Little & often is good advice A vet visit ASAP is also advised ..in case he has developed an illness . Hope he is soon happy and enjoying his new home :)

Allergy Elimination Diet -is Barf Roo Acceptable?
persephone replied to booge's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
AFAIK, an elimination diet is just that - to eliminate things which may cause an allergic reaction. From what I've read .. one novel protein is used, along with one novel starch. That's it. No other treats, kibble, veges...nothing.esp. no grains . There seems to be lots of varied ingredients in that commercial dog food ......... there is NO way you could pick out what he is allergic to using that . roo tail and sweet potato would be a good place to start, IMO :) No doubt those with more experience will pop in to help :) -
you did ask I love the expression on this sleepy face ..and big paddy paws... and wanted to try so he can be seen without distraction ...so had a play again.... hope you don't mind. Definitely not an expert opinion, but it might give you some ideas .(and I like playing :p ) Just done in photoscape

Luxating Patella Issue (updated 7 Weeks Post Surgery)
persephone replied to ness's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
:0 I have no idea of measurements , sorry ...I just peep at the dog when it's lying down ..and see what's touching where ...or if there are odd angles in joints because of bandaging/straight legs ..... You will all be glad when it's over :) -
Luxating Patella Issue (updated 7 Weeks Post Surgery)
persephone replied to ness's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Mitch didn't ever have crate rest ..he just was watched, happy to have his servants, and made himself comfortable .. he was heavily bandaged , and did touch foot to ground. I didn't notice any stiffness . Is teh crate big enough for her to stretch/curl, turn over without that foot hitting wire? is there plenty of deep padding to accomodate her hip comfortably? -
...So the bitch gets to ingest all this when she cleans her pups? Hmmmmmm

I just a had a very quick play with the meerkat ..tidied up a few things , and tried to lessen the 'fringing' of colour around tree branches ....def. not a professional play :p

...indeed - but dogs fed lots of bone will produce a white, often dry and crumbly stool ..depending on the amount of bone. if our dogs have been royally dining on goat/rabbit and chewing up whole ribcages , etc there will be lots of white produced .
