I am so glad you found a vet who will be helpful .... Do we get to see photos ? :)
-
What is the actual diagnosis ? Did you see your regular vet, or a specialist? Can your boy have a pen/bed nearer outside ..or on a porch or somewhere that makes it easier to access outdoors?
-
Looking forward to seeing some very interesting shots now !! :)

Oh gosh , film and colour ! :) How cute.. :)

Oh - I didn't see the bit about dog being unsupervised , We feed lots of goat/sheep flap this way....pups and adult , and have never had a problem .It needs to be big.. so that it can not all fit in a mouth ..and I thought frozen would be safe..I guess dogs can choke on lots of things

R I P Luca .... poor old girl didn't make it . I will miss her a lot . -
..and have you also read up on what some other dog breeds MAY have lurking ? If they don't have money to pay for expensive tests/treatment , then they don't ... and all the well meaning warnings in the world will not change the fact they already have a pup, and perhaps do not have the money . Why worry them with "maybe's" ?? Their dog - be it a jamaican rum hound or a aussie drop bear herder may well carry some defective genes , and may become ill .. and they may find it a hard time ...<br class="Apple-interchange-newline"> or they may get tired of said pup , or pup may get run over, or they may find it too much work training a pup ... So many things could cause them to not have a pup anymore ....but that is the risk everyone takes . With respect , if you do not know the breed well, and also are not well versed in those 'health issues' , please don't start up a conversation relating to possible health problems ....

A nice big piece of lamb flap . ( the bit with no bone) .frozen , that he has to chew . Depending on dog size ... a frozen heart of some sort ... once again.. something to chew , and not just gulp.

:) When your owner wants you to be social and interact with visitors, but you're cold , and very tired, having worked hard all day , and you just want to be warm and sleeep.. well- they use these sort of things to warm up humans, don't they? :) 'Little Bitch' (yes, that is her name) found somewhere warm to sleep ..with a bonus, she was just picked up & carried out to the car`afterwards (she is 'Possum's' Mum) Seriously - using these bags may be very beneficial to puppies , or ill smaller/olderdogs ..Obviously not for chewers ..but as they can be carried around without handling the occupant , they are useful :)

and she handled it pretty well , I thought . (note the flexi leash... an original from the 1980's!..and still going )

Thanks, folks. She is still sedated , and her family are weighing up the options . -
Luca and I have been friends now for around 1/2 her life .. around 6 yrs. She has her quirks... but she is the cuddliest and most patient of princesses . I don't see her much these days ..but she always remembers me , and enjoys the lapses of discipline which involve toast crusts being 'dropped' on the floor , and extra chewy treats ... I don't normally go terribly mushy over dogs not my own ... but she stole my heart a long time ago. Unfortunately she is in hospital with cluster seizures, after suffering a few in latter years - and this morning's news may not be at all good I know her owner will do what's right , but it's still awful to think of her like that. I took these shots last year ... *goes & waits for news* ......

Sorry you and your dally are ill... it must be just so frustrating for you

perhaps packaging is different for different countries .. why not read the ingredient /dosage information and compare that ?

..pups can have bones as soon as they have teeth :p Your pup will probably love a semi frozen, whole chicken wing ... frozen so he doesn't gulp it..but chews and chews to get his meal. . being smallish, he may also enjoy beef brisket bones , and also lamb shanks .... Chicken and other softer bones are great, as they can be totally chewed and digested to provide calcium . BIG meaty bones for little mouths are also great for cleaning back teeth , and providing lots of chewing to release all those lovely endorphins :)

but, but, but ..the cat cuddling here is Bernie Mr.W throws dogs down ..like a lion , he launches at their shoulder , he wouldn't sleep with them! :D

My dogs hear a pill bottle rattle .. and they line up :) They know that immediately after they have a pill poked down, that they get a bit of bread & butter , or cheese - so pill time is a GOOD time . Think I'd change obedience schools
