Rapid Breathing In Older Dog Question
persephone replied to janisw's topic in General Dog Discussion
Could it be anxiety? he is older, and may not move as easily between the farm and your place ? A thorough vet check will hopefully put your mind at ease -

Eh Ate Some Cooked Chicken Bones...
persephone replied to Mrs Rusty Bucket's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Why not give her her food? the more food in her gut to pad out the bones the better , I think. Lots of dogs eat cooked chicken bones regularly ..mine have scrounged them quite a few times. I just give food & psyllium husk . Causing vomiting may not be a good plan.. if there are sharp bits..they can do an awful lot of damage coming up the wrong way -
What Could Have Happened To Oreo?
persephone replied to CathyM's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
aahhh . Hope the damage is not permanent- poor little guy. how did I miss this ..apologies. -
I guess we will never know what exactly happened ..but an aroused pack of powerful dogs are capable of pretty much anything, moreso if these dogs didn't know each other or the rescuer well.

me either. How sad... R I P young lady..you tried to do good things.

Whatever you are feeding... cut back by 1/4 ..or a half , while he's sedentary . Too easy :) Put kibble in a Kong, or a 600 ml soft drink bottle ..he will enjoy getting it out ..and be satisfied with less.

What Could Have Happened To Oreo?
persephone replied to CathyM's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I have seen this twice ...with dogs I knew. There was a lesion on the brain , and dogs were PTS. They do need a vet opinion , or have him PTS at a vet. How sad -

Tremors In An Addisons Dog
persephone replied to Puppyluppy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Welcome , and I'm sorry you and your dog are having problems. No experience here, but what did the vet say about this latest episode.? -
This is what I just saw..about 250 mtrs from our house. Very windy & stormy ...

I have been playing with images ..and created this this morning. I printed it out onto canvas ..and from a distance, it looks like an old painting :) This is the little cottage in which I spent my first 4 years .. 3 rooms- no bathroom. I wanted an image of it, that when looked at in years to come just had the 'spirit'. obviously it looks different larger & printed :)
-
poor little girl ..I hope all goes well at the vets this morning.

What did your vet suggest , other than an injury? There is one condition I thought of which can present as stiffness in the front legs after sleeping .... If it continues , I suggest you ask your vet about Elbow Dysplasia If it is a possibility , get a referral to a specialist . "Light Duties" LOL good luck with that one ! There is a lot of training you can do without running/jumping/long walks .... maybe train your pup to lie still, roll over, give you his paws to do nails, etc , 'crawl', and , the best one ..to go happily to his bed/in his crate /basket , and enjoy being calm :)

Most of ours have these sorts of markings :)
-
there probably isn't :) The scrotal skin shrinks .........
-
I have seen a lot of castrated dogs.., and dogs being castrated , and not one has had the scrotum removed ... In pups ..yes, it will shrink to almost nothing ..in adults, there may be a tiny flap left.(usually covered with hair) At present, it is full of fluid, but that will dissipate, and swelling will go down :)
