  1. ..Cute video, however, that may have been a one-off . It would have been more convincing for me had the pup had been videoed as he did this several times , after an owner moved the hose away slightly , so there was no arc :)
  2. Awww.. now, he will never do anything naughty , you know that :p You can just tell by that face!!
  3. Hearing loss can make dogs do odd things as well ... Hopefully your vet is sympathetic, thorough ,and has everyone's welfare at heart .
  4. Ta, tlc... he's a nice old boy . CC.. I prefer the lighting in that last one :) Lovely.
  5. Leo , sleeping in the late afternoon sun (he is hamlet's 1/2 brother). photo taken today. The other recent ones posted are terrific ..and show just how backlight differs, and teh differences it makes .. to the subjects :) This is a nice thread!
  6. How are things today ? Ticks can hide in ears, between toes, under collars, on lips, in the anus- all sorts of places
  7. ...I guess you would be a bit surprised and shocked ..when everyone was having such a great time . Think on what may have happened if the lady had actually seen a larger dog attacking a small one , and decided it was none of her business.. Hopefully , if she DOES see such an incident , she will once again step in .
  8. :) ..Hmmm I do need some more irrigation channels !!
  9. I've been thinking about Cooper .. and one other suggestion if he gets very uncomfortable and has troubles .. is total removal of that useless femoral head completely . I have seen this done .. they vet I worked for used to do it in almost keyhole surgery (dogs which had heaps of pain ) and dogs went out of the clinic next day with wagging tails :) He is still a baby ..still developing , and , if he were mine, I would not hurry to book any surgery . Why not make an appointment with a specialist at Werribbee Vet hospital , and discuss it . ? Oh -, BTW, what were the elbow Xray results? Werribee can examine those xrays , and probably do their own if the wrong angles, etc were used in the originals ...
  10. , When not doing stuff, Freddie lives under a lemon tree .. I had a hose running there to water it , so Freddie decided he did so need a moat :) he had a good and productive afternoon ! he is a hose/water fanatic ....
  11. I tend to agree, nekh. ..plus young dogs, carefully managed , can form a reasonably functional 'joint' with extra muscle development ..
  12. Arrggghhhh! A wooluf, a wooluf!! She is gorgeous, indeed!
  13. You explained it yourself , in that bolded bit. It is not 'ok'. to those who do not suffer (and suffer it is) from the varying compulsions and beliefs which lead hoarders to this lifestyle. To the hoarders..it is just another thing they do ...a bit like someone , who when asked to write a food diary , discovers just how many cans of coke, or bars of chocolate they do consume each day , without consciously debating the wisdom of it - even denying it to themselves...
  14. Lovely Tribute ... R I P Chalice ....
  15. Big beef bones won't really do it .. the bone needs to be eaten wholly, and digested ..so it provides firmness and the "oomph' value when excreted to push on those glands . Eating bone this way is excellent for jaws& teeth and also provides lovely minerals & such :) Chicken carcasses, turkey necks, wings ... lamb flaps or whole necks ... roo tails .. all in LARGE lengths/pieces, so chewing takes a while .. not just chomp/swallow. teh bone needs to be well chewed ...which is why weight bearing bones aren't ideal..they have a different way of disintegrating .. and tend to chip off/splinter . I would also get a vet check if it continues .... Thinking about this perhaps she is having some pain, or a nerve response which is uncomfortable - setting off that gland empty reflex?
  16. Hope he can get in soon..and that his tummy continues to behave!
  17. :) :) Welcome Home, handsome boy! they do remember things and places very well , don't they ?
  18. Not bad at all, considering the mix he is :) (Cocker X Koolie)
  19. :) he's so quiet when he's asleep ...
  20. Just try & keep them cool, and yes, dab betadine on patches a couple of times each day.... :)
