No. When I was a kid.. a lot of dogs used to roam the neighbourhood ..and attach themselves to groups of kids playing on vacant blocks etc .... with not an adult or book of rules in sight :p many bitches had puppies in the backyard .... ergo . Kids interacted regularly with all sorts of dogs ..and if bitten (NOT 'mauled) it was usually their fault for being near pups/food etc. We all knew how to behave ..and most of us did so naturally . Kids do not have those freedoms anymore..dogs are terribly restricted , and often singletons ..and the learning by 'osmosis'/experience just doesn't happen.

Dog Humping One Member Of The Family.

I would perhaps suggest your friend has Molly on a lead for a while when she's home .. have Molly with her ..attached by a lead ..and keep things matter of fact ... see what happens. IF she humps .. then being attached by lead will enable your friend to diffuse/control the behaviour. -

I have not a great deal of experience in this , ...but am thinking it could be either an excitement or an anxiety response as well ...... it happens in pups when there is just an 'overload' ..... -

Who trains/walks Molly? Who feeds & disciplines her? Does your friend have any health changes ..like maybe menopause /change in hormone levels/pheremones ? -

Do they ever do it when there are no toys or food? Unfortunately , getting them at 6 weeks meant they didn't have important time with their mum to teach them manners!! The time up to 8-10 weeks before they normally go to new homes is important in learning what they should & shouldn't do . It also means you probably bought them from someone who didn't give you much information on the pups' family - what their health and temperament was like .... You are doing well going to puppy school separately and with your training ......and now that gives me an idea why the bitch pup became more confident - she was in her own space for the first time ..and enjoyed it!

fuzzy photos- shot 'on the run'..but you get the idea :p Hammie has only learnt this in the past few months ..puts paid to "old Dog, new Tricks!

Hi :) Your boy sounds lovely ..and we do need photos to admire! :D All I can think of is that sometime your dog received a fright/felt pain when you gave him a command in the lounge or yard ........... and that has stuck with him . did ANYTHING change in the house ,or with you around the time his behaviour started? paint/builders/, your health .. any new appliances, new dog collar/lead ... place treated for pests .anything you can think of? You are very lucky! there are several Victorian DOL members who are professionals and experienced in dog behaviour/training .. it may be that one of them can assess your dog - seeing with different eyes, maybe ?

I was also thinking this :)

Welcome to D O L :) two babies fighting....... Who apparently wins? What is their body language when they fight? What happens if you do not intervene? has the breeder been contacted for advice? have you owned this breed before?

persephone replied to Skruffy n Flea's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Agree. NO food . Give his system a rest Liquid faeces can be from an infection, or something nasty eaten ,,but it can also be the only bit which can get around an impaction in the bowel he may have some hard faecal matter there, or a foreign body ... Hope all goes well at the vets..and remember..IF the vet Xrays ..not all foreign bodies can be sen on Xray -

Excellent!! :) -
IMO ,british bulldogs aren't really small :p they are also VERY different in care to little terriers ... kirislin's the whippet lady ...I love them , but don't know a lot about them . They are soft & silky to touch, and make terrific couch ornaments ..they drape themselves over you .. there are mini schnauzers.....

Dog Worse After Seeing Chiro
persephone replied to Bjelkier's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Poor pup .. I hope he doesn't have an infection or injury to bone ..both of which can be exacerbated by massage & 'adjustment' My suggestion is, If you can ..get him to your vet tomorrow - get temperature checked , and swelling palpated /checked ..then, if there is no sign of infection or damage to joints etc .. by all means see the chiro again . Hope he gets better very soon. -

My guess is a vet visit. Was this chiro recommended to you ? -
phone your vet ...better to not wait for symptoms ..ask if they can ID the tick for you.
