Oh! .......
-
Sadly the boys aren't really working, as normally they get training with our our sheep. Our sheep are in no state to run around..so the boys are living the good life - mostly indoors with me !! DAGS HAS been out once or twice for a day, and done reasonably well. Lord knows how they'll end up ! Clive is funny...I have a rotten cold, and if I sneeze or cough, he's there, leaning on my knee, looking at me... Oh.they both bailed up a feral cat today! Poor scrawny thing it was..it escaped down a rabbit hole after a brief skirmish.

Adding a dog to your family should not be stressful for either the dog or yourself. She is already on medication, you and your husband are in tears and stretched emotionally - that is so not how it should be I am sorry. The rescue can now concentrate on finding her a home without small animals ..where she can enjoy her humans, and they her .

doing some preening

Sounds very stressful For how long have you had this new girl ? At 9 yrs old..you are taking a big risk. A working breed X? ..unknown quantity. small animals(prey, quick movements) I wouldn't do it ...and I consider myself experienced. I just wouldn't want all the extra work/stress and then have it not work The distract /recall will NOT work on prey drive, in my opinion ....it may in puppies, but an adult? Doubt it very much.

Help! My dog has extremely bad Anxiety when outside!
persephone replied to Sebby's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
What a shame it has been happening without help for you for a whole year I can imagine how awful it must be. I agree that something probably happened to absolutely terrify her one day, home alone ..and now, just being outside is the trigger. Being indoors is away from the 'nasty'..and so she can relax. Locking her outside will never fix it. She is at a big risk of also dying from snakebite, as she will be too anxious to pay any attention It will cost money, but, if you really want help, a PROFESSIONAL dog behaviourist ..NOT just a trainer is the only way to go. Two best Dogs wrote a good post. You and your poor dog will need a management program - she will need a lot of extra training ..doing different things, and she may need medications to help her ..not treats..but that was a good thought -
Hi If it were me dog sitting ..and knew there was a time limit to it ...I'd be continuing the dog's early morning habits..not teaching her a new one .... she has her own routine, and I guess money will change hands for some effort expended

To watching this guy's videos !!! :D I'm not usually one to enjoy watching dogs being trained or demonstrating their skills...as a rule.Yes. I have trained dogs ..but only a certain style and a long time ago . This young man and his own 3 canines have me enthralled ..plus the ones he's working with are fun, too. I love his control, his enthusiasm and his absolute immersion . I hope you enjoy them as well . here's one ...maligator at work !

Confirmation of Border Terrier breeder please
persephone replied to Deb Davis's topic in General Dog Discussion
perhaps google the kennel name/breeders' name ..and see what that brings up? As well as what Rebanne suggested. Here is the TAS DOGS site CLICK here Hmm..maybe the site needs updating ..but I had a glance at the list of breeders who are members..and there are NO Border Terrier breeders' names. I would suggest ..if there is any doubt ..walk away. You do right to question -
This is one of my favourites from a friend's funeral on Monday I had no idea this service existed ..but - how wonderful! Led by his son, and escorted by other family and friends on Harley machines, S had his final ride along the river he loved, and beyond.

Not long now ...most of that fluff is gone, and they look like what they are.

A typical Aussie set of shots there, PC The 'little world' ..yes..kind of Little Prince related - love that story I didn't pick the rose quote !
-
There's also this one ... not a 'garden' ..but an assortment of roses, all protected in various places round the house by various wire cages etc -gathered together in a collage ...
-
Hope this counts Took a photo....(attached) made it into a little 'world in the clouds ' and I like it!

Advice or recommendations please
persephone replied to Lanny1's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
You're doing well Dogs who bark at moving/noisy things can cause neighbour problems, too! Ask on here - giving a general location, and you may find a good, balanced trainer to help you out You need someone experienced and decent ..not a happy-sounding franchise ...but someone with recommendations..and someone who will use all sorts of methods and training tools to help you work with your little dog . -
As he ages.... Has he had a thorough sight and hearing check? Unfamiliar objects may appear worse if vision is wonky If you live in a big city, seek recommendations for a good homeopathic vet, if all other tests come back as normal. Homeopathy is not essential oils, and is not anything you can do by yourself.
