Maybe ....... ..she also needs to be TAUGHT which items she can have .. and crating her won't really do this ... if she is, however attached to you via a lead ..you can be there to guide her ..and channel her activity /interest into things she IS allowed :) You also both get to know each other's moves/body language really well .

I usually soak a tissue or swab in saline , and rip it gently into the corner ..with my hand in the centre of dog's head .. obviously cold liquid is a shock .. so room temp or SLIGHTLY warm is more comfortable :)

Sorry you lost your mate ... she leave you with so many warm and comforting memories to help with the physical loss ...

:) IF he will chew on them :p a lot of dogs are sensible and refuse to chew on synthetic toys ,(which are mostly marketed to be appealing to the human eye , by the way) ....... Will he chew on an apple? (wash, but leave peel on). he can also play with apples ..roll them around and chase them like balls ..and then sit down & have a nibble ! I love using them as puppy toys .

Either third or second for portrait :) I love the second one, actually! That first one has so many great angles/shadows! ..and interesting broken windows ..old poles with porcelain insulators- lots of good stuff! :) What happens when you crop certain areas to get those angles featured? Does it look different ?

yes ! A lot of behaviours which are normal for dogs ..are also not acceptable when those dogs are in close confines /living with humans, in houses. To a lesser extent, behaviour like protecting resources, marking objects, digging beds/dens are normal canine things..but not what owners want happening in their houses/around their families.

having him empty one day will not cause an ulcer .... and when fasted , all dogs have some acid/liquid in their stomachs ..don't panic! :) *breathe* !! Ask your vet about giving the 'supper' biscuit ...and follow his/her advice. :)

It is for Snowy's safety to be fasted. Sometimes dogs throw up ..and if there is food in the stomach when they do , this may then go into the lungs...which is a very bad plan So, an empty tummy means much less risk of trouble! Snowy throwing up a bit of stomach acid/bile is nothing drastic ..he is just cleaning out his tummy .... and so I would not suggest giving him anything at all!

The rose is a blackboy climber ...it has absolute masses of trailing branches, full of scented flowers ..a real rush first thing ..but they don't last long, as you can see by the petal 'carpet' . I then cut it back fairly hard ..and let it do its thing again - poor thing was planted where I thought it would be a big shrub ..didn't realise it was such a very vigorous climber .The scent and masses of flowers are just gorgeous, though. :)

if you are concerned.. dab betadine around ear margins ..it is anti fungal.. but a vet check is wise .Fly bites can cause a similar problem ..they suck out the blood and chew on teh ears , which scab and get crusty... but there may be another cause,

have you read the whole thread? The OP was the first one who raised the PTS option ...and we have strongly suggested she gets a professional assessment before making any decisions. Many of the people who have posted here have worked in rescue, or trained dogs, or have had experience with large breeds.... You are right - which is why an assessment is called for. ..and if it is ONLY these two dogs not being able to co exist peacefully ..then the owner may well make other plans. Once again, consultation with a professional , who will look at things IN PERSON , and with an objective and very experienced eye will help take the pressure off the distraught owner , and help explain things to her. Unfortunately I have seen first -hand the unacceptable behaviour of dogs bred for things other than household pets ...and have also been blessed to have had one of my most gorgeous dogs from a definitely non-pet oriented breeding . Large dogs who may be either pushy , or defensive are not for inexperienced or impulse owners , so care needs to be taken when rehoming is done - a lot of soul searching is being done here, and the owner is trying the best they can to cope in a very upsetting situation.
