Can Vaccinating A Pup To Young Be Dangerous?
persephone replied to biglib's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
biglib.. can you let us know what your vet says ? It's an interesting question, as a question ..... -
..no .. not a ringtone how about 'something to play for those cold callers from other countries?'
-
agree. I think, YG you should sell it as a sound effect for movies !! It may be something very simple ... and it's only a recording ...but it really did put the hairs up on the back of my neck, and set the heart racing ..and had me jumpy . It had a bad feel to it.

biglib.... not having a go at you or your friend... this person selling puppies- (no such breed as English Staffy- they are Staffordshire Bull Terriers , if they care so little for the pups' welfare that they vaccinate at 3/4 weeks send pups home at 6 weeks .. then I would not think they have done any health checks for problems which may be passed down the generations .... I would also bet that pups are weaned way too early, and on cheap food....which is false economy. and I would bet, if your friend ends up with a sick/dead puppy after a couple of weeks ...these puppy sellers will not be at her side to cry with her , and help cover costs. Perhaps you could read this ...and share some of the story ? I would hate to read a post later on in a similar vein. LINK Oh..an AMSTAFF ....... OK. have you read about BSL? Have you heard stories of councils taking dogs who look like pitbulls ..and have no proof of the fact they are any other breed ? ie: pedigree papers from a registered breeder.... Having an AMSTAFF from such an ignorant breeder ...with probably no pedigree papers , or even temperament testing does not bode well for this pup's future get your friend to do a bit more research before she picks pup up ... losing a loved pup/dog is on the cards .. -

is it a blue staffy? .................... -
Do you have any rescue remedy ? maybe put a drop or two of lavender oil on a bandana/collar for her? Maybe a calcium tablet (just plain calcium)

Tell your friend to walk away now. whoever this pup is being purchased from does not sound at all like any ethical registered breeder I know of (or perhaps no one who knows dogs ) .and your friend is possibly spending good money on lots of heartache. Please tell them to not fund this person's mismanagement .... 6 weeks????...puppies should still be with their littermates/mother. What sort of pup ? perhaps someone on D O L can help source one from somewhere reputable ? -
from the original post ...

have you forgotten? This is D O L . the conversation is never over...... :) It is an interesting point ..and I remember cases where neglect /abuse was being carried out .. and how DOLers worked together to help ..legally ... We don't normally just sit on our hands if the need arises , thankfully :)

Bruce is a Border Leicester :) he is huge! We have had him several years .. he was someone's pet ..but totally destroyed the lady of the houses' roses .. and used to charge everyone and was due to become dog food :p So he came here ..where he has Collie Goat for company ..and they head butt each other all day .. and she just LOOOVES polishing her horns in all that wool :) he is due to be shorn in the next few months .. we always leave a couple inches of wool on him when shorn, too..., because of the goat bunting him...hard! Hamlet's a funny boy ... :)
-
If they are scared enough It could well have been both! She may have peed everywhere, and he followed suit? One panicked dog may have upset the other ..or he may have been marking where she peed?
-
Hamlet's alert, not alarmed ... well, not much alarmed......
-
Oh Dear.............
-
Hi..just quickly .. he is a handsome boy :) my first guess is submission/fear causing him to pee in the laundry - he is still a baby ... how do you put him in there? What mistakes is he being allowed to make to warrant that many time outs? How so ????
