  1. That seems odd ....... has she been vet checked properly?
  2. ..and Chief should not be allowed to show such bad manners in someone else's home. It is your responsibilty to have control of what your pup does. if he is reliable using your voice...then that's great . if not, he needs to be on a lead, or seperated by baby gates/closed doors. It's a little like taking a toddler to someone's home, and letting the kid open drawers, and run through the house screaming
  3. poor old girl. I hope whatever the decision it takes away your worry. For whom?
  4. I took this one today ..it's a bit different :) Titled "Ant"
  5. :)..and who gave in to cute puppy eyes a few months ago , and let her get away with things? Huh? :) What training do you do with her each day? Do you have a yard ? Maybe she can be let out of her crate and have some yard time while you get up?Give her breakfast in a kong, or an old soft drink bottle ..let her take out her excitement on that! I also suggest you practise " Nothing In Life Is Free" :) LINK HERE
  6. I am lovin' this thread :) here is one I got earlier .. a little flower spider- just waiting...
  7. Oh, poor old dear. if she were mine, and I could work it out ..I would try for a brace , weight reduction and painkillers/acupuncture..which may help with her arthritis too ?
  8. Not sure what work she is doing ... but might I suggest you ease off , and see if her appetite improves? She may feel that any more to carry is very uncomfortable .... We have working sheepdogs..and often when they are working they eat very little for days on end..esp.when it's hot . I would imagine a belly full of puppies might amplify that feeling?
  9. My guess is that they need to metabolize chemicals that actually damage/kill other living beings. Small doses , yes , however the chemicals are still 'poisons' and need to be processed by the liver & other organs, plus stored in bodyfat or wherever. ..and this a biological fact ... Using these is Your choice , though, and I guess you are aware of how your system is dealing with it all . :)
  10. Yes, but if you have your animals on a product that prevents any fleas they may come in contact with producing viable eggs you do not have the infestation problem :-) true!! :) ..altho I read it that the OP was worried her dogs would pick up eggs and bring home
  11. I am so sorry - you are having a very rough time. Oscar is now with Mia ..and back to his cheeky self ..think of that picture .
  12. Dogs are more likely to have adult flea transference than eggs, I would have thought. Fleas have those powerful jumping muscles for a reason ! They can hop from host to host :) Also, flea eggs do not stick to dog hair , they fall off and don't survive well outdoors - fleas prefer shaded, protected areas , with some humidity and certain temperatures , which is why houses and carpets are so popular as nurseries !
  13. OH such a handsome boy .. I am sorry you now can see him in memories alone...
  14. It certainly sounds bad ...and I guess what you have to do is see the world as dear Oscar does ... and think what enjoyment there is in his life now ? Not lifting his leg? Probably because he is weak and feeling wobbly and sick.... I can't recommend a vet , But I urge you to get him to one urgently. He can probably be put on a drip and have something to help him relax and feel less pain.... If he is going downhill so very fast , then you have some decisions to make ..even if it is keeping him comfortable in hospital while a diagnosis is found ..or maybe having him gently go to meet Mia, as you hold him . It is an awful time for you- I am so very sorry Take care
  15. Big Trip!! What you do will depend somewhat on your dog :) What breed How old it is ... is it an inside, companionable couch potato, or an active outdoorsy type? How does dog get on with strangers/wildlife/other dogs? Is dog territorial? Do buy/pack a decent long line for her , as letting a dog free run in unfamiliar places is not a wise move . Now is a great time to start training dog to toilet on command too, so 'pit stops' can be simple and where you want :) .... :)
  16. That sounds a pretty good report :) I think you both need something special tonight .
  17. Agree with playing outside..or taking dogs in car ..come back, excitement , treat time inside .... aircon is going :) Our pups bark when I turn the aircon On , here ..they've not heard it before ... They'll settle.
  18. They can be a lot hotter than wire ones They are also fairly easy for pups /dogs to damage with teeth/claws unless they are properly crate trained . A crate isn't 'essential' , as wonderful as crate training can be :)
