  1. Dear Old Thing.. sorry you only now have memories...

  6. My vet used to call this 'pulse' therapy ..and it's basically what my very allergic boy was on for all his life (12 years)
  7. poor bluetongue. Your dog should be fine. Lizards are not poisonous/venomous.

  10. Only tiny puppies, so I get a good hit of puppy breath, and they get a good whiff/taste of human for their first experiences :D we have a no - lick policy here .
  11. I came home from a day in town , and Hamlet wouldn't eat or drink!! I thought he was about to die ....Hamlet not pouncing on anything falling to the floor is a sign of disaster ! I tried him with different things ...and ended up using some of the steak I bought for tea That was acceptable ... Eventually I got him to drink some steak 'tea'..and eat some more ..then after an hour or so , he was back to being a pain. No V or D ..and today he is his normal court jester, noisy self. The dogs have heaps of shade.. there are about 7 watering points in the yard ..just seemed odd.
  12. Is his owner capable of close observation and correct dosing of the AB's?
  13. If i'm eating while watching TV .. I can use Hamlet's head as a 'table ' .. he will lie with his head in my lap ..and go to sleep :) No licking here ..and no dogs in bathroom .
  14. I didn't know that :) and yes, a barking dog all night is not a good plan.
  15. :) :) edited because I knew what you were saying :p
  16. Gosh..hard call ..as , yes, nerve damage can take months & months . I also know just how worrying it is, and the damage which can be done due to no sensation as to recovery ? I do think it's worse for the owner ;) Of course there is a large wound ..and also a need to rebalance /co ordinate limbs .. but they seem to cope really well :) I have not ever owned one.. but have seen quite a few, including a stud dog I worked with ..he had a front leg taken off due to cancer ..and aside from falling over when he used to lift the wrong leg to pee... he hardly noticed it after a few days :) It looked horrific to us tho ! I think they feel more comfortable immediately ..with pain/awkwardness gone ... :)
  17. :) A JS breeder I knew had most of her dogs/pups outside :) They were such wonderful happy chappies :)

  19. would say she is a bit concerned and is not wanting to allow them to get close .
  20. crate TRAINING is just that ..taking time to get a pup used to going in, then staying in a crate. It is NOT intended to physically stop a puppy toileting inappropriately indoors...and it is not at all kind or fair to leave a pup crated until it HAS to soil its bed area Crate training will mean initially more work for you ..as YOU will be the one letting him out for toilet ...YOU will be timing his crate time, teaching him about crates, and toilet training him by taking him outside every hour or so , unless you are happy for him to toilet indoors on paper always think hard about this ..you have a baby puppy ..and whatever he learns now will be with him all his life :)
