  1. it does not matter if the housemate's actions exacerbated a behaviour- what needs to be dealt with is what is present now. If that is a dog behaving with any aggression , whether a fear aggression or not - THAT is what matters , and what needs identifying and changing. Simple. And, IF a dog, large or small was obviously biting me with intent ... Using a foot to remove them is definitely preferable to using a hand !! With little dogs , chewing for a while on strong leather shoes often changes their mind for them, anyway ;)
  2. Inside that fluff lies a beast- don't forget ..and, dogs is dogs..whether 4 kg , or 44 kg.
  3. Not stupid .. very scared and stressed. It sounds difficult for you both . With this behaviour, and her way of greeting people ..it sounds like you may benefit from seeing a good recommended professional behaviourist , who will be able to assess her , and then give you ideas/skills to help manage :) if you let us know where you live (city/town) I'm sure someone can give you a name or two to contact..
  4. Hope Struppie keeps feeling happy ... :)They are beautiful boys.
  5. Pockets,, seems you missed some info.... this puppy has had diarrhoea for some time, and is not in good condition ....but improves on raw chicken , being used temporarily .along with the rice ,which is easy to digest and a great energy source.
  6. ..and 'ignore ' means just that !! NO looking (yes, you may well bump him ) NO talking ( not even "get down/off!") No touching ..even to push him away . he will be so used to you dancing around and giving him space ..this new tactic will not impress him!
  7. can you buy some little toys..or even bits of folded towel.. and offer him one for a few seconds of calm NOT preceded by bouncing.? I would also immediately start on N I L I F , and totally ignore..like not even glance at him unless all four feet are on the ground. if he gets his toes stepped on , that's his problem ;)
  8. They might get a peanut butter sandwich, if they're lucky :p
  9. It seems there have been problems for some time .... I do hope you can get onto a good solid professional for some advice/strategies :) from older threads ...
  10. It is not possible to accurately say what is happening , from behind a screen , really. This could be the case .. One could be hiding an illness/injury One could be pregnant One could have developed this over time ....and been activated by something simple .. Unless both have been seen in the flesh by a professional, and vet checked thoroughly ..whatever we say is only a guess..an informed guess maybe ..but still only a guess.
  11. This can happen, unfortunately. please keep them totally separated at all times .... and just enjoy one on one time with them as normal. Contact a good professional.. CLICK HERE for the one who sprang to mind . You may be interested to read some of the stuff in these threads CLICK CLICK CLICK
  12. yes, speak with your breeder, and ask what they recommend . Some breeders will send home a sample too :) It may be better for your pup to keep to the breeder diet for a week or so while you gradually introduce the new food you want to use . This way avoids tummy upsets.
  13. have you a referral to a specialist yet? Don't forget .. biting legs/feet can be a sign of an anxious mind .....
