Missing Patches Of Fur (photos Included)

If his coat has been dul/brittle, maybe a thyroid test? -
First off, I would suggest a thorough check up , eye/vision check, and hearing test ....., then maybe a consult with a behaviourist like jane harper?

Oh gosh..... mites, thyroid, ringworm ...... a vet visit is the only way unfortunately. Curash will only help if the spot is wet & mucky ... That 'lotion' may also be useful for wet excema/hot spots ..being Tea tree oil and Boric acid ..but it will not be useful in dry skin., hair loss, AFAIK. What diet is this dog on? Skin things are so difficult .... -
Hey, MtS ..I am sorry Buddy needed to be put away from his pain..but now he is over the bridge and pain free. After having him around for so long, you will miss him a lot Take care ..and hug your other guys :)

Welcome :) What daily training are you doing with your juvenile delinquent? Pups need a few minutes spent on manners every day .. and they need constant reminders that recall/paying attention to the human when they speak , is a Very Good Thing! I will strongly suggest that your pup and you will benefit from these two things ... they will help you realise your dog is all dog ..and doesn't think as a human does , and they will help your dog realise that humans are the all powerful, and provider of good stuff------------------- and that the DOG is responsible for how much good stuff he gets!! LOL Triangle of Temptation Nothing In Life Is Free have a read HERE as well . a couple of points your dog is not seeking to dominate you and your household forever. your dog will unfailingly do the 'correct thing' if his reward is great enough ( and rewards can be a simple pat , or playing with a ball/tug toy) . Your dog will often learn bad habits MUCH easier than good ones, because we humans encourage it :p I also suggest feeding your pup outside .. giving him a big bone outside ..and having pup friends who are gentle come and spend time outside with him... there will be others with advice ... and I hope that you & your pup can get a better understanding of each other :) I am thinking (and it may not be correct, as I have not seen your pup )..that your puppy is simply doing what puppies do a lot .. do submissive mouth licking of adult dogs .This starts when cubs/pups are young and being weaned.. they lick/bite at a parent's mouth, and the parent then regurgitates food for the litter . It is an instinct :) A lot of adult dogs will still do it to other dogs ... meanwhile sending out body language that says, in effect ..." Hi, it's just me - I mean you no harm ..aren't I cute and inoffensive?"

I actually that outfit .. I think a schnauzer girl models it well ! :p

May I join the fan club? I do like those chunky black boys !! Sam Is just gorgeous!! :) :) -
personally i would not get a dog now ..then a puppy in a few months time - sounds like too much hard work! Three months isn't long , when you are puppy proofing a house/yard, educating the kids as to what will be expected of them, buying/building a dog run/kennel /dog door , or whatever :) also, if you have an adult dog now .. when you get your puppy , there will need to be a lot of care taken to avoid accidents between them due to size difference avoid jealousy provide attention to detail with puppy training -esp. housetraining! provide separate housing /run areas for both when you are not home ...

That sounds excellent news :) Hope he is a lot brighter and happeier now !! -
It could also be the result of an infection .... maybe dab a bit of betadine on it , just in case ..and see a vet if it grows or changes .

Vague Symptoms In A Sick Mini Schnauzer
persephone replied to Diesel the Weasel's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I know..but it is worse if he is very ill and still home . with you watching him get worse .... Ok..so no drinking or urinating since yesterday ..and dry gums, lethargy , hiding away ...I wouldn't be asking the vet..I'd just be taking him in straight away. -
LOL :)

5 hot spots and diarrhoea sounds like an unwell dog ..and I think a vet visit may well be a good idea.
