How old is she ? Could there be some pain which starts to niggle in the cooler weather /change of season? It doesn't really sound like an allergy ... Is there anything different which happens at home in April? Anything ... like putting pool covers on .... turning on ducted heating ..moving the BBQ .... anything! I am also thinking of my old old terrier X ..if she had a flea or two on her rump ..she would rub and rub her back on a chair rung/low lying branch etc ... until the hair on her back was broken & brittle, and her skin was sore ....

<br style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: verdana, tahoma, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: rgb(238, 242, 247);">He is a dog ... cold and dark is something he needs to experience and learn to enjoy :) (YOU TOO!) rain, noise, grass, cold, wind, darkness...all these are part of life and NEED TO BE experienced/made an everyday thing...so you don't end up with a 'precious' dog ..who is scared of the dark/won't get feet wet .. etc . These things are our responsibilty .... Also , start NOW ..associating a word with toileting . pick a word you are happy to use in public ..and start saying it when he starts to toilet ..not loudly, or excitedly .. but as a command... followed by praise . The idea will catch on ..then say it as you see him think about toileting ..... then, when that seems to work .. start saying it when he goes near a place that encourages toileting , etc .... and eventually (within reason - they can't poo if there's nothing there) you will have a dog who can be asked to toilet in certain places, at certain times. perhaps give kibble in the morning ..and carcass at night? That gives all that biscuit time to move along befor the middle of the night , maybe?

Just be aware ..you may have to turn your plans a bit askew ;) A dog really shouldn't start jogging /long walking until mature ..so around 12 mths , AFAIK. BUT they DO need that 10 - 15 mins at least training time EVERY day :) Trouble is with long runs etc .. the dog just gets fitter and needs MORE..and MORE Thinking hard , working for reward, learning new things is tiring .....any activity where control and dexterity and precision is needed is tiring ..more so than running in a paddock

..sounds very much like bedbugs, if that's the case ... I would also be surface spraying behind pictures on walls ..along skirting boards ..under bed , on wardrobe floors .....

Your dogs MAY have a thinner coat as they are kept very warm .... ? solid wooden kennels would probably be preferable for sleeping in ..as the wood is insulating , and , if well made, totally draft proof . Thick scrunchy bedding in which a nest can be made ..and they should not need jackets, and warming pads . At present all our dogs sleep outside .. in various kennels /sheltered spots , with old blankets/ raw wool /mattress protectors, and are toasty in the mornings :) ( and we have had a couple of minus temps already :) )

Ahh .. I used to go to a country fodder store with a dane in the yard .. it had a kennel just near the gateway :) I can well understand why your OH was not popular after the rope incident ... :/
