  1. doggy door sounds perfect :) can you then use baby gates or barriers to confine him to whichever room the dog door opens into ? That way he can please himself, and have somewhere indoors and sheltered , as well as his toys, treat balls etc outside to entertain himself . Well Done ! :)
  2. I've finally had a good browse of these --- Love what you've captured :) :)
  3. THis is my thinking as well ... two of our dogs will lie near the back gate , where they can see the other dogs, the road, the animals ... this is done both when we're home , and if we are away .....it is their 'TV' .. a spot where they can bark/watch and snooze without missing anything.
  4. CC- they were/are! A walk late morning ... visitors at lunchtime , with litle kids who delighted in throwing squeaky toys around...., then a walk to a park with the visitors .
  5. Looking out the window is a good thing :) He needs to occupy himself somehow .. so he watches things happening .
  6. These two girls are also guests where I'm staying , and today was a busy one for them ..so they crashed on the couch :)
  7. My Mitchell chose me .. by breaking out of the kennels where he was housed during assessment for a pet therapy program ... finding my car in the carpark, and somehow squeezing in thru a part opened window .I found him sitting in the driver's seat when I went to go home that day ... and we were together for the rest of his life.
  8. that's a lovely update, erny :)
  9. Mitchell was mine ... I just knew when I first saw him ..and got that arrow-thru the heart- type feeling ;) he was an adult at that time .... and we were inseparable for the next 10 or so years ....
  10. Hmmm..it is always a hard decision , to gently end a life . My view is always one of the fact we have power to take away the anxiety, the aggression , the worry . We can ensure the animal does not fall into the wrong hands and suffer more , and we can ensure that owners/carers are safe and not having concerns over severe behaviour/health problems. You have done a lot for this boy , and I can understand your anxiety now ... I wish you all the best .
  11. Lucky dogs :) I agree - the more exercise, the fitter the dog, and the more exercise is needed to 'tire' them ;) Think of kids ... working hard at lessons , or having to be on best behaviour somewhere will result in a tired kid ..whereas zooming around with friends won't ;) teach her tricks/obedience/house manners , etc in a couple of short sessions each day ..and see if that makes her more settled :)
  12. I only discovered it last night :) working my way thru !!
  13. It will be extremely difficult to rehome a fence scaler of this magnitude I think. Wat does the rescue organisation suggest ??
  14. she may be cold .. or she may have had a scare in the backyard ...either a strange noise /animal. or the other dogs scared her? How old is she ?
  15. Staying with a friend who is dog sitting ..both are itchy ... not a new thing . I suggested calendula tea ..now where do I find it ? Westish from and not too far away from the City
  16. Very Well Done :) :) That is so sweet , that pic.
