  1. These two girls are also guests where I'm staying , and today was a busy one for them ..so they crashed on the couch :)
  2. My Mitchell chose me .. by breaking out of the kennels where he was housed during assessment for a pet therapy program ... finding my car in the carpark, and somehow squeezing in thru a part opened window .I found him sitting in the driver's seat when I went to go home that day ... and we were together for the rest of his life.
  3. that's a lovely update, erny :)
  4. Mitchell was mine ... I just knew when I first saw him ..and got that arrow-thru the heart- type feeling ;) he was an adult at that time .... and we were inseparable for the next 10 or so years ....
  5. Hmmm..it is always a hard decision , to gently end a life . My view is always one of the fact we have power to take away the anxiety, the aggression , the worry . We can ensure the animal does not fall into the wrong hands and suffer more , and we can ensure that owners/carers are safe and not having concerns over severe behaviour/health problems. You have done a lot for this boy , and I can understand your anxiety now ... I wish you all the best .
  6. Lucky dogs :) I agree - the more exercise, the fitter the dog, and the more exercise is needed to 'tire' them ;) Think of kids ... working hard at lessons , or having to be on best behaviour somewhere will result in a tired kid ..whereas zooming around with friends won't ;) teach her tricks/obedience/house manners , etc in a couple of short sessions each day ..and see if that makes her more settled :)
  7. I only discovered it last night :) working my way thru !!
  8. It will be extremely difficult to rehome a fence scaler of this magnitude I think. Wat does the rescue organisation suggest ??
  9. she may be cold .. or she may have had a scare in the backyard ...either a strange noise /animal. or the other dogs scared her? How old is she ?
  10. Staying with a friend who is dog sitting ..both are itchy ... not a new thing . I suggested calendula tea ..now where do I find it ? Westish from and not too far away from the City
  11. Very Well Done :) :) That is so sweet , that pic.
  12. Alot of that may be bleeding from the shaved looking area on his scrotum?
  13. If your puppy is eating it all ..it's not too much. A good kibble and some meat .. young puppies will eat lots ..you pretty well cannot overfeed a growing baby :) Your puppy does not need 'fillers without nutrition' like rice/pasta/veges .... as extras... growing pups need good quality food that their bodies can utilise :)
  14. link excerpt: A CHAMPION Kelpie should be destroyed after it allegedly attacked a six-year-old girl, according to her father. Mack - a lauded working dog that has won numerous events at the Casterton Kelpie Festival - is believed to have left the schoolgirl with severe facial wounds requiring hundreds of stitches, micro and plastic surgery and the need for ongoing dental work. Victoria Police confirmed the incident happened on June 22 on private property at Balliang East, near Bacchus Marsh.

    Atlas

, teebs . The gorgeous ,comical , boofy boy ... that was Atlas . :)
  18. As babies, the urge to poo can also be triggered by what puppy sees/ feels under his feet ;) If your pup was kept in a pen, under cover , with concrete etc as flooring - then his body may have got the message "roof + flooring " = poo . instead of "big sky + grass = poo"
  19. Runamuk .. and Chris - apologies if my post was misunderstood . I understand there are many 'trainers' who can do damage .. my post was meant to reassure you about the folks here ,
