  1. That's great news about the fence rebuilding ..and the fact that council are working with you :) A simple way to stop food aggression is to feed dogs separately .. out of sight of each other . ..saves anxiety and worry !!
  2. animal ark .. glad the lump has settled - :) Basically , if you need anything dog related , this is the best spot in cyberspace This forum is full of all sorts of people , and all sorts of stuff gets posted- some helpful, and some not so . --- learning to use the 'ignore function ' (found in the "my controls" section) helps sometimes , as does realising that often a thread will take on a life of its own ;)
  3. She will probably come in again 4-5 mths from now .. so sometime soon seems a good plan to me :)
  4. It's usually something which gradually absorbs :)
  5. :) It does feel good when you find that what you've done is the right thing ! I hope that this vet visit will result in a diagnosis of something easily fixable for your little guy .
  6. Hopefully it is the remnants of a sting .... I would have thought an abscess would be painful , but a vet visit is a good plan! :)
  7. ..and a happysnap of Widge with her grandma , Old Gertie - who is deaf , and getting quite wobbly now , altho she still enjoys a wander somewhere different :)
  8. LEO .. our best yard dog, Hamlet & he had the same dad :) he is around 11 yrs now, and getting a bit slower .... Widget (wee widget) , Mr. Wilson's favourite victim! he usually has her quivering in a corner when we go to bed ... poor Widge :p
  9. ?large as in .. orange sized? Golf ball sized? Where on his neck ? When was he vaccinated last ? It's almost Impossible to guess correctly from this side of the screen .. it 'could' be all sorts of things .....Glad he's happy & unaware :)
  10. Dogs don't really get 'heat rash ' as they have no sweat glands there like we do. It could well be an allergy though //or some sort of bacterial infection ... or a reaction to her licking /scratching ..... what does the skin look like ? Damp?Pimply? flaky? scabby? is the hair red, or just the skin?
  11. Poor baby - she does look ill - but treatment seems to be working :D I hope she is even better tomorrow .
  12. They may pay TOO much attention, and if someone gets hurt , and has to have attention - then council may be told :"he's done it before ..and she was pregnant! " NOT good publicity for your dog
  13. please go to another vet - and perhaps ask what anti histamine or other drug would be the most use for your particular dog.? Do not give OTC/Human drugs unless you have good experienced people /vets advising you. For 10 years I had a dog on cortisone/antihistamine almost every day dosage ... he did not suffer any of the symptoms your dog displayed .... It is a very individual thing .. some drugs can be fantastic .. if the dose is worked out correctly - other dogs cannot tolerate some drugs.
  14. look at him now!! All growed up ;)

  17. Just get a portable run ..and buy/make shadecloth blinds ?
