  1. STOP GOOGLING AND SCARING YOURSELF :D if you have ever cut yourself (not scratched) etc ..what happened ? Did it get a bit red? did it seep a bit? did it swell a bit? All these things are usually normal parts of the body's trying to fix up what just happened . Wounds will change every couple of days as the healing progresses - fluid rushes into the cells ... swelling occurs .... the stitches/shaving are sometimes itchy and may go red ....all sorts of interesting things :) keep her occupies with toys/bones/treatballs ... don't let her jump or run really hard for a week .... and don't panic ;)
  2. No idea what his training is like ..bu the FB page is interesting and very readable :) . magnum K9
  3. AWWWWWWWW That photo of Skeeter & bub is just so beautiful :) Conratulations!!!!
  4. Life with this dog does not sound ideal 5 years is a long time without a specialist opinion though.... is there anywhere within driving distance which has a Veterinary behaviourist? Or a neurologist? A vet university clinic? A different training style? I agree with this : Until you get a diagnosis either way .. that it is the way he was born, that he has some problem within his brain , or that he has behavioural issues - decision making is hard for you I can understand not wanting another 10 years with the dog you have described. ... Rehoming him would be irresponsible . Rehoming a dog with problems is unfair on the new owner, and the poor dog ! if you cannot find specialist help , and worry that everyones' quality of life is suffering, and have tried everything in your scope, and budget ( and it sounds as if you have worked hard) , then having him gently euthanised while you hold him is the least stressful for the dog.
  5. lilypily .. I think that a microchip would have been scanned and the owner contacted ... not then adopted out .
  6. The dog saved him twice ..... what a horrible position to be in
  7. The dog should be returned ..and yes, I would do it .
  8. *crawls back under rock* I thought this was about a dog who was 'big brother ' to wayward puppies or somesuch :p have never seen the TV show .
  9. they may be focussed..but I bet any money there will be a paw poke/leap at times ..then some frustrated /excited yipping when they hear moving prey ......
  10. can you cause disturbance to the area ? hose it often, cut away ivy , etc ? If there are uncaring renters or an empty house ..then it is very possible there are lots of ratties!! A terrier delight Who needs toys!! ;)
  11. :) It turned out well .. my favourite bit is his little 'hand'

  14. I am cynical because sometimes vets make mistakes ......there may be something not quite right internally ..due to the surgery ? No idea- just tossing in ideas....
  15. ..yes, I'm cynical... remember, sometimes procedures don't work out exactly as planned ....and a youngster refusing food for days is not normal .
  16. Awww - gorgeous photo :) Sorry it's to be a rapid downhill slide -
  17. :) I lost my old Kieran to bloat/torsion ... glad harry is doing OK .
  18. methinks that BB's technique would not suit dogs barking because of anxiety or uncertain-ness at all . It's pretty 'in your face' .
  19. is he drinking ? How is his behaviour generally? if he isn't drinking much - he needs the vet ASAP . I would suggest a vet visit anyhow- not eating for more than a day or so needs checking.
  20. from 'a clean incision' to being bashed with a heavy instrument ... Ok... poor poor dog. :(
  21. hopefully he will be healing well. that is one horrible emergency , bloat
