  1. sensible advice agree here ... it may be fine , until she gets a fright .. or something ....
  2. There's a difference between having a dog that's registered with a council and having a pedigree/registered dog from a registered breeder. yes! Does she have a pedigree ? Unfortunately , if she is picked up /puts a foot wrong, she could be in big trouble
  3. the gate needs to be HIGH . Each time a dog jumps/burrows out - the reward is there..and next time the dog will try harder .. So - it is up to us to set our dog up for 'good behaviour" :) make it physically impossible ; (my 2 C worth)
  4. ...yes..and make very very sure she is registered as a purebred amstaff, and that you have her pedigree etc as proof .
  5. it could well be irritation caused by teh scratching ..loose skin/a bit of blood? Got a photo?
  6. ..oops... a strong smart pup - not enough to occupy her ... and having learned how to ..... now she has learned .. not much will deter her - it will just make her work harder! You may have to change your management .. 'feed her indoors- teach her to toilet on command - obtain a very secure run - do more brainwork with her in the form of short and frequent obedience/trick training - and , if you are unsure , get advice on how to teach her to lie calmly with you indoors ... have you had a puppy before? fencing needs to be very strong and high and deep before puppy learns to escape ... it is your responsibility to puppy proof a yard/house - pups do not know ... dog runs can be built ..or portable ones used . one will need to be large enough..floored and roofed to keep her safe ..have room for her to get out of the weather ..and to be able to play with toys and not lie in a toilet zone ....
  7. Bigger is not always better ;) unless they have the same parents ,and have had exactly the same upbringing... why expect them to be the same sizes?
  8. hi- it varies with each pup/household, of course - but the basics are teaching the rules from day 1. Teaching ... be calm... 4 feet on the ground, etc . have you been using N I L I F? it may help :) there is just SO much info here on D O L - many new owners have a similar problem , so I will put some links below with different dog/owner cases . Hopefully they will help you. LINK LINK LINK
  9. OOps- should work now ..sorry
  10. ..alright - so I'm the only one without a life I have just installed a little app which allows me to create 'watercolours' - something I have always longed to do ..I adore watercolours ..... these are some ..obviously I am still learning :) CLICK HERE edit to fix link - sorry ....
  11. welcome :) ask the breeder! they should be able to tell you what they use, what he is currently eating, and what to buy for when he comes home ..as well as info on worming ,etc .You should also get advice on how often to feed ,and lots of other advice . it is most often the best for puppy to feed exactly what the breeder is using ..and if you really aren't happy with how pup is doing on it ..then change GRADUALLY after a few weeks at home .This helps pup settle..and may avoid tummy upsets.
  12. .. LOTS of practice in the yard ..even if it's getting her a bit hungry .. putting her food bowl down the back ..... and walking down there on lead . let her pull ! Have a leash on indoors too . When you attach the leash ..have her sit ..show her a yummy treat HIGH ..so she's looking UP ..hold it in one hand ..gradually move it down - meanwhile.. SILENTLY clip leash on with teh other hand as she gets the treat ;) THEN do NOT adjust anything- just carry on with another treat --SILENTLY - no acknowledging an "event " has happened ....
  13. tell him she's not a pet ...she's your BABY! ;)
  14. Ohhh That is lovely :) and how many "good Reason" s in each day now ? :D
  15. YOIKS ---- I do hope they settle ..and it's unfortunate it seems it could be hereditary .Hope they don't have bad reactions to other things they might encounter.
  16. ouch! perhaps she zigged when she should have zagged? Vet first ..in case..
  17. I probably would freak out a bit as well ... I would be disappointed/worried/angry/confused..and absolutely determined to explore all causalities! Working at a vets we would always get owners phone or visit reporting lumps after vaccs..usually a fibrous lump..pea sized or such ..and it would not be at all painful ... when we used to use certain stitches on certainm dogs they wouldreact with ginormous fluid lumps - often requiring draining ..and ,of course a note on their charts to NOT use that material on/in them again. I do hope the vet realises that this is something which needs much investigating - and of course, fixing . Good luck in teh morning .... poor babies.
  18. it still seems to me a result of injecting something ... being all in such a precise spot . ..and I would be jumping up & down on the vet's doorstep first thing tomorrow !! It is well worth investigation - for a reason of future incidents /reactions to reagents etc when injected with stuff if they get ill ...... poor little mites :( That is just awful ..that much swelling will be causing some damage to cells of all sorts :*(
  19. YOIKS. that is a large sized lump for little bubs Doesn't sound at all like wasp stings ..all in teh same area ..and so large , and just popping up. You would have noticed wasps, surely ..and the stings HURT . Hope they are OK ... Do you have any silver colloid ? put some on the lumps, and in their water, maybe ....
  20. ...ahhh they sound very smart - to totally ignore silly tests ;)
  21. ..nice to see him all growed up! :D
  22. sounds like a reaction to either/both injections ..... No advice, sorry .
