  1. Weighing him and feeding treats at a vet is a great idea.... if , one day he decides that vet is a scary place - well- that's a lotta dog !
  2. No, I'm shooting in JPG. I saw the RAW button but am not sure how to switch to that even if I wanted! Sagelight looksgood Perse. It is on special for $39.95 but I shall have to wait. I do have Windows 7 so shall see what is in there. I see what you mean about too bluish when compared with what you did. You knew what type of bird it was too I see! apostles are my favourite! :) saqgelight has a trial period :) What I love about it is that each time I put the cursor on a task etc ..info pops up to remind me what it does ...
  3. Thankyou ..imagines T's computer groaning under the assault of all those extra pixels ............... LOL maybe , once a month or something, set yourself up to do a couple hours R A W on a dedicated RAW card .... store them seperately , and edit when you feel like it ?
  4. *looks around for a lovely people * :p I did shoot RAW on a couple of occasions ... found working with it not to my liking ... may do again sometime .... :) It certainly has many advantages !
  5. grass seeds are horrible when they go in weird that the breeder can't be found - if she shows dogs. What happens when you google the kennel prefix name ?
  6. ermm, there IS a legal requirement, actually ... RSPCA has nothing to do with it . this is copied from a thread here on DOL 12 mths ago ... have a read of the bit I bolded....
  7. At first thought, it sounds like she may have been very focussed on bringing her ball back ..and the other little dog made contact - bumped her/whatever .Unfortunately , then instinctive resource guarding behaviour was used..... much as if you were walking along a dark narrow laneway and someone poked you suddenly .. a lot of folks would turn aroound defensively!! I would!!! if she growls normally .. then she is warning ..which is a good thing - silent bites are worse I suggest NO toys if you do frequent dog parks ..keep ball play to home or deserted beach or something - walk her lots on lead ..and manage her 'personal space' sounds perfectly normal for a bitch who is not ready to mate ... esp a brood bitch!
  8. has he had anaesthetic? noticed the shaved patch ....
  9. what sort of messages? handwritten letter? phone call? email? TXT? contact via website? I would try all media - in case something isn't working :)
  10. for years & years I used PICASA ..as I had windows XP on my computer , cannot for the life of me understand photoshop or GIMP , etc ... Since getting this new-to-me lappie which has windows 7 on .. I am using the "fix" tools provided for the little tweaks most pics require :) So easy ..and I can manage to do lots of other things from that window :)I dare say it has been updated now .... have a look! I also use Sagelight Image Editing daily! here's a screenshot for you ...
  11. oh.. how do I approach it? I look at the photo ..and wonder if the colours/detail are what I could see when lining up the shot? Does the dog really have a blue tint to their fur- is that eye really a wishy washy fawn ..are those leaves so devoid of detail? Then I play around until I think it looks like it did , I R L
  12. welcome to teh dark side :p on my monitor, that top one looks very "blue" and possibly a little too contrasty.... ? Everyone's montor and eye sees things differently .... Ok.. a minute playing in windows live gallery "FIX" ( which is a wonderful thing on my new-to-me- lappie)
  13. :) he looks lovely ..and it seems he enjoys helping in the garden, too ;)
  14. ..it could be a hundred ( well, not quite) things :) including a hot spot /puppy bite/ collar irritation ...... best to get a vet check it if it is concerning .... then you'll know for sure .
  15. It's always tricky- I suggest you let us know your area , and ask on here fo recommendations of a REPUTABLE trainer who can observe your walks first-hand , and help you with management :) beware, there are lots of not-so-trustworthy/experienced trainers out there !
  16. and unfortunately I have important appointments Wed.. so a very hot and horrible day ahead (car has no aircon)
  17. *sigh* here we go again ..........low/mid 40's for a week . :( glad everyone survived the last one ok .... I will def be phoning my Dad each day again, and reminding him to DRINK .... trying to not yell when he says at lunchtime - I have been drinking, I had a cup of tea ..... Take care, folks.
  18. Oh.. things like cheese/sausage are only ever used in tiny tiny pieces during active training sessions , AFAIK .. so the dog doesn't get all that much of it ,,but the treats are just that - something REALLY special to be used in short bursts :)
  19. 'sensitive stomach" as in how .....? are there only certain proteins he can tolerate? is fat a problem? Fibre? what about bones? natural , fresh, and available in all different flavours ? Sheep/cow/turkey/chicken/pig/fish/deer...... surely one will be suitable? it is really easy to dehydrate slices of apple , etc .... What about using the dog's normal food as training "treats" ... a meal spread out over a day ..no scoffing from a bowl , that way ;)
