  1. and brother, Don ...with his white chin whisker ;)
  2. Oh. Wishing him and you all the best for Thursday :)
  3. my favourite landscape photographer Pete Dobre is wondering if there would be any interest if he was to hold a 3 day workshop here,at the homestead - using the amazing cliffs and surrounding area , as well as old machinery etc to play with light & technique . It would NOT be 3 star accomodation .. outdoor loo ,shared rooms , all that stuff.. and meals would be provided by yours truly and brother :) just plain country fare .. probably camp-oven something ..and of course ,and diet /allergy requirements would be catered for. This is just a VERY EARLY heads up ... if anyone is SERIOUSLY interested , can you pm me ? I think there are 7 spots free. It is an idea at present - but one on which we are both very keen :)
  4. It'd be interesting :) I love WAYNE GRIVELL'S night work (which is most of his stuff ). being an architect , there are many angles & structures ... here are a few MELBOURNE ones :)
  5. I love watching Collie, my goat with puppies when they first 'discover' her. She doesn't like them much ..prefers adults - and then she has her favourites. So with pups, she will let them sniff..then take a step or two back, put her head down and charge ..stop with her head about 2 inches away and snort loudly /repeat as needed. Pups soon get the message . She is around 10 yrs old ..and I think has only connected once or twice with any of our dogs . She is free range .. so regularly gets approached/rounded up etc . yes, it did give me a heart attack when I first saw her doing this - but she is always very careful to not make contact ....
  6. How's your little dog today ? Guess she's very sore with bruising , on top of the actual wound
  7. very much crazy - which is what my brother looks for to make good working dogs ..
  8. Regarding her advanced training ... perhaps in the long run it would be more beneficial to help her with the anxiety/confusion ..and so become calm and confident enough to attempt this training at a later date ? it's like working with a human who has PTSD ... baby steps..and lots of support before being put into a confronting place maybe ?
  9. You may enjoy reading thru this site CLICK HERE :) it has some good resources /guidelines . about kids & dogs.
  10. ;) ...he apparently does lots of stuff which he has on his FB page ... CLICK
  11. I am a convert :) Dogs and humans!! A couple of times recently one or other of the dogs has had something happening on their skin - the solution has worked so quickly!
  12. :) little beasts they are!! we have use permoxin every week as a total soak ......or sometimes every few days if needed as a spray . Your little guys - I will give no recommendations .... the easiest way to do feet is to put the solution in a cup/jar ..and leave feet soak for 20-30 seconds :) Those areas you mentioned are the ones most likely to have the stickfast - we find them sometimes around eyes as well. the permoxin usually kills them - however , the bodies will often stay fixed - dead/dry, but still there .. If all is well, the rinse/spray can be repeated .... if you are in sand ..and cats/rabbits/birds may have come in..there may be home grown ones Hopefully they picked them up somewhere! have fun ;) Oh - we use a flea bomb for the house -
  13. panto - thinking of you and your frazzled brain ..and of dear panto and her bewilderment and pain... all I can do is send &
  14. gary was so cool & collected !! I'm surprised the dog owners were so accepting! why on earth would gary want to put it on his FB page though? I'm sure not many other goats wanted to see it :p
  15. Friends in Melb take their pup to 'school' ..and they have cafe classes! Pups of all shapes & colours sitting & enjoying the outdoor ambience with their owners- everyone learning how be accepted and well behaved :) What a GREAT idea- not heard of it before ...

  17. Hope your dog heals well, now. It would have been very scary. make sure you tell the council concerned ! While dogs can be VERY dog aggressive , it does not always follow that they will attack a child - worth remembering ....
