  4. Your puppy needs a vet check, I think .....
  5. If you could tell she was in season, it was NOT 'silent'.A silent season/heat is when it happens internally as normal, but with no external evidence.
  6. I have no ideas re:money changing hands...I would have thought you would get pup from the breeder after she regained control of it , but... Anyhow, I do hope everything goes well. A vet check is a must - good plan Puppy will probably be unsettled and ill mannered due to changes , but it sounds as if you've done it before best of luck ! puppy pics are very desirable on D O L (please?) :D
  7. What a great update he must be feeling SO much better .
  8. BINGO! you have solved your problem ....she still needs your help
  9. Why not provide Chase with bones he can chew and eat ? provide his food in interactive 'toys' , or as meaty bones/fresh real food he needs to work at , and let him use his jaws/mind that way ? there are also snuffle mats- brilliant things for puppies ..gets them using their noses and brains PICA ..the eating of non- food items , including rocks, is a compulsion , regardless of what else is given to chew on .It is caused by many things...and providing chewtoys mostly won't alter the underlying caus/es. I think folks like antlers because they are natural , and aesthetically pleasing . Things dogs would absolutely have a ball with, like a half raw sheep's head -or fish heads well, most people wouldn't be so keen ;) Our dogs at the moment, because we live in the bush , are finding young rabbits dead of various things (NOT BAITS) and scoffing the whole lot- fur, innards & all ! Pudden had 2 for 'breakfast the other morning ...and he's all Koolie- no labrador LOL Give him a Denta-chew , and he looks at me like I am slightly weird! Whatever you choose for your gorgeous boy, I KNOW he will be snaffling a huge chunk of your heart from that first hour ..and I can't wait to see photos and read of his adventures ! Thank you for sharing your journey .
  10. Yes...Hopefully, Dougie will have helped prevent others of his extended family suffering a similar fate
  11. While looking, I found the following. did you get such a number? This is the code of ethics for PET SHOPS : in QLD
  12. I am glad you are consulting a trainer - hope things go well .
  13. A dog can be happy in an apartment . it is what happens OUTSIDE a backyard which determines a lot of a dog's happiness /contentment Dogs NEED at least one , preferably two longish walks a day EVERY DAY ..with leash . They also need some free running and games, and LOTS of sniffing. They need training to occupy their brains...tricks, commands and good manners. they need house manners and yard manners . All this takes extra time ...Dogs just don't automatically 'use' all a yard to occupy themselves. They will need interactive toys, maybe a sandpit, maybe some other play equipment .... it's a bit like having another toddler!! Often a medium dog is better with kids than a small dog .....and there is less risk of injury to the dog if a child accidentally falls or rolls on it etc .
  14. No advice, just an "I'm so sorry you and your poor dear puppy have both been so badly used by this "breeder" . I hope Karma finds her. " Poor Dougie.....Definitely not your fault.
  15. Disappointing ...now to wait ...*sigh* ....
  16. If you are happy to - tell us yr budget and keep in touch .... D O L can be very helpful in all sorts of situations (but no promises)
  17. Well Done. 'YOUR' dog is waiting for you ...it's just not from that man .
