  1. Where is the like button..... where's the PHOTO! ??
  2. gee,,I am SO glad they do leave you a little space !!! :)
  3. Stan must get so exhausted working out ways to thwart the mighty Fridge monster :p
  4. if you know how to properly use a check chain and have had success , and are relaxed using that method - you'll get no complaints from me . Check chains in inexperienced and rough/untrained hands can be nasty . What I would suggest is to do HEAPS of work at home ..teach him heel ..get him really keen to stay with you , at your side , learn every little twitch of his, so you know what he's thinking ..and work on that... at home just walk around slowly ...have a toy or favourite treat with you ..and when he is by your side happily .. but not "begging"/jumping he gets praised . No other conversation ;) practice N I L I F ..and make sure "dad" does it too . That way you will have a youngster who watches and understand you much more ..and vice versa . This, to me, is far more important than any physical controlling of a dog's head/body . :)
  5. Why not start a thread asking for a professional who can work in your area ? it's quicker and easier than trying to search alone ;) Glad she enjoys her playtimes ..and hopefully a bit later, she will also relax and listen while onlead ! ;)
  6. Ok... you NEED to have a consult with a trainer /behaviourist - ideally one who some folks have worked successfully with , and trust. Asking for names on here would be my suggestion. Wanting to greet other dogs, being excited & then frustrated , pulling , etc ... is all behaviour which can be worked on when YOU learn some more about the whys & hows :) At the moment - SHE is training YOU to allow meet & greet sesssions , on HER terms . This is not really how the dog/owner thing should work ;) :p You're still using a harness?
  7. romping? these are heavy duty rompers ...and my photo aptitude isn't up to movement & such I'll see what I can get ;)
  8. rule of thirds is useful - yes! My guess is that is why my eyes kept going to the shape/reflection of kettle /jug ? Which is the more important in the shot? Which could stand alone, and have the other as the "fine print" ?
  9. I like the macaron one :) Technically - I have no idea :p The second one .... the background distracted me a bit ..and I kept trying to focus the gorgeous jug! :) have you tried placing things right near the (short)edge of a table ..so that when you take a pic /look down a bit on them ...all you get is the length of the table ?No distractions .... Well Done :)
  10. Not sure of her future as yet ... she is pretty staid ...not as much drive as some of our pups , but in many ways she is like her maternal grandma ..even down to the 'silent yip' :) Our workers are not really 'pets' but they aren't isolated ..when out working /camping , this one's mum has been known to share the boss's swag ( or that of anyone else who happens to be there as well , and is willing!!) LOL .
  11. oK.. very ordinary "snap" with iPhone ..Mum, whose name really IS Bitch , Don & Ess
  12. it is the BEST arrangement if you & your dog like it that way ....another thought - with the weather getting cooler .... TRY THIS
  13. Honestly ..I think this thread has been pretty well behaved . You are but recent ,..and haven't seen what can happen :/ Everyone seems to be concerned about the dog, and your situation , and trying to save you both from confusion and pain.
  14. oops.. you showed her the best spot to sleep ..and now she's not allowed... be STRONG. Don't talk to her or anything when she whinges & paws ..nothing,nada. No "go back to bed" nuffin'. IS the trampoline bed comfortable for her ? think about it from her P O V is she perhaps bent the wrong way , with legs on hard bits? can she curl up happily? are there any noises which may come thru the wall and disturb her?. perhaps ..get a cheap doona and cover ..lay it on your bed for a night , sit on it during teh day for a while .. fold it in half and drape on her bed ... it will be a bit cuddly ..smell of you ..it might help :) Or ... get a couple of thick sheets ..and use them , one at a time over the top of your bed ! bathe dog every couple of weeks ..brush well each day ( and do your own washing ,so Mum can't complain ... ;)
  15. Poor girl..and you. vet again I think ... it may be she needs different meds ..
  16. Ok..given there is pink (blood?) in the wetness coming from her eye ... I would def be booking a vet appointment ..arrange for sedation beforehand if it will be easier . Good pics , BTW :)
  17. Why not just use a harness for short trips like that ? No lifting etc then ...
