Hi - What have you been feeding which seems to work better? what did the vet say about these episodes? have you done an 'elimination diet' to find out if your dog cannot handle certain foods? is the vomiting after every meal? food for dogs is an endless thread - as every dog/household is different :) - and as everyone feeds different foods , I think it's hard to work out which is cost effective . My guess is that whichever one type of food/recipe keeps a dog healthy and happy is the most cost effective - as there are not the associated vet bills ! ;) I have never cooked dog meals - feed a lot of raw - and some dry food ..must admit I have never worked out cost -

\ Ok. my first thought on reading this is that perhaps he sensed the presence of the trainer as someone who could confidently make the decisions - so dog didn't have to . I know you said you have booked another session - but would you consider emailing/phoning K9 pro? they are excellent at dealing with all forms of aggression/training. AS a start - have a read here. With such a dangerous object in her gut - if she were mine , there is no way I would be having her at home!! Pojnty bits can easily make holes ..and being in hospital and obseved means that in the case of trouble, they can get in there and fix it. please, if she does it again - do NOT wait and see . Small dogs and pointy/hard foreign objects are a dangerous combination ..and once the intestine is punctured , things can go downhill very quickly if not monitored. Hoping for good news soon :)

I so wish you could :) It is amazing to watch even the new little blobs - they are set in their ways from day one! One may be noisy - one is a bully - one just eats & sleeps - one needs contact - one prefers to be apart from the group....

Hi .... not sure where you live , but my strong suggestion is to ask on here for reputable and honest professional behaviourist/trainer to help you in this. NOT an 'obedience trainer', or one who guarantees to solve all your problems in one visit ..but someone who can assess the dog thoroughly , and work with YOU to manage problems . This dog needs help - from what you've posted , ... the peeing on the couch could be several things - even to reassuring herself that her human was still 'hers' - peeing on that human's scent , and claiming it , as she didn't have access to her person. She only sees her person for a few hours a day ..and has two homes ... You are recognising things - and that's great :) A good professional can now add different tools to your box of tricks . Sep.Anxiety is tricky .... Someone here will have recommendations, I'm sure. ..just noticed that for some reason you posted in Breeder's Community . This would be better put into General, where more people can reply . It isn't really a breeding type question :) pm TROY if you want it shifted .

could it be a poor old body suddenly very tired, DD ? It is comforting that she is getting good care , and that you have great communication with teh vets.

DD - what we use here for our mobiles is a bluetooth car hands free thingy :) Do a search - or ask in dick smith or somewhere , and find one which is easy for you . turn phone on - connect it to teh device ..and off ya go! phone is safe and in one place ..and , providing the device is strong enough - you will have signal a room or so away , and do no not have to race to the phone .

This morning I finally realised how much of a (bad) influence he was we went for a little walk ..4 dogs & me . I was busy taking photos . hadn't checked the paddock properly ......then went to walk home - saw dogs a way off in the shrubbery, and whistled them to return - only to realise with a sinking feeling that Don & Widget were following 3 roos . I realised then ..that it was only following ... Don has never chased/hunted ..and was just curious .Widget HAS been a hunter - always with Hamlet ..and has been a willing partner in the baying and frothing fury that used to be - This morning - one whistle ..and they both just turned & ran back to me - I couldn't believe it!! Whew. Don is so laid-back ... last night I let him inside , as I was feeling very sad & sore , & thought we could both sit under the heated throw on my chair . No .. he came in , checked the cat bowl..then hopped straight onto his blanket on the couch ......put his paw over to me to hold, and went to sleep.How boring :p

I haven't watched it ... but I would love to see those persons concerned subjected to a similar few minutes - perhaps place them in a city square at lunchtime ?
