  1. distilled water ? Why would you , unless there is a very badly compromised immune system or something ?
  2. I am sorry ; This is now very urgent - it must be just awful . You can not live with an aggressive dog ..and hopefully the trainer is also a behaviourist or vet , so a possible cause can be found . Sometimes these problems can be indicative of a problem with a dog's brain ., exacerbated by a sensory problem ....or something learned over time and deeply ingrained ... and sometimes a situation is way out of the scope of a purely 'training' fix. sending :hug:s and hope for a thorough investigation and good outcome .
  3. I am glad you are keeping them for a bit longer. I am also very surprised at the vet's take on things ......... and a bit sad that they are passing on such information to new breeders like yourself and - good - we have another 2 weeks worth of photos :)
  4. it was a one-off ..and I was so surprised! :) Thanks , snook.
  5. Thanks Perse. I left her in the crate and went down to the local shops for 10 minutes. Came home to Ivy howling her poor little heart out then I moved her crate to the lounge, we shared Chicken Treat and had a nice long nap in front of the tele. :) you're a good nurse ;)
  6. I know it's just meat ...but I would find feeding horse very very hard ...
  7. That must be a big worry .. A second specialised opinion will help sort things out for you
  8. Here's hoping for a happy Stella soon :)
  9. apologies - yes. tess- just think - in a couple of months, all will be back to normal!! then you can breathe :)
  10. :) Glad she is home and being treated in the manner to which she LOVES to be accustomed ;)
  11. I really do not understand why you are worried about BABY puppies doing what they should be - feeding on Mother's milk? It is the best food for them - it also makes mum feel good .and it is what dogs do ... if they are getting good food which keeps them full - plenty of water available - and if she is getting just a bare maintenance ration - it will sort out- trust me . A couple /three feeds from mum a day is a good thing in my book ... (sorry if I am missing something) . :)
  12. This was taken yesterday with iPhone ,and had a quick edit with #mextures. Taken from inside a car travelling @110 km/h. Location? "Accomodation Hill" on the way to Adelaide, Australia
  13. we feed kangaroo tail , any rib bones ..spines/ribs/necks from sheep/goats. Turkey wings/necks , rabbits (whole) Kangaroo tail with flesh/sinew is a wonderful thing! Nice porous , non shiny/splintery bone ..lots of sinew, & some muscle meat , with a fatty pad . SO much exercise for all teeth - ripping/tearing/gnawing and crunching :)
  14. yes - for HUMAN environmental things - removing from Mum & siblings and exposure to different people /sounds etc . are vital forpuppies raised in a kennel . Your puppies, on the other hand have already had a LOT of exposure to lights/householod noises/smells, and handling ..walking on different textures ..seeing things of all shapes & sizes - they are well on their way to being comfortable with people & human dwellings etc :) You have done good. BUT , I didn't see any mention in there about bite inhibition, or how to play carefully , or dog body language /habits ..... (sorry if I missed it) . I also don't believe that puppies should be "weaned"..as in removed forcibly from the mum once & for all. our pups are usually weaned before 8 weeks ..as ,since week 4/5 I reduce the amount of food given to the mum ..increase that given to pups (mainly raw meat/bones )..na dmum's milk is pretty well dried off by 7/88 weeks , as puppies have meat/bones to suck on , dry food (not soaked) freely available ..and mum is often away from them for long periods...
  15. You get top marks for being such a dedicated slave, DD
  16. How cute are they with their "fort" :) thanks .
  17. if she will eat while training ... then do lots of short training at home - and forget the food bowl/mealtime thing ! ;)
  18. Oh..and do we have podgy puppy photo updates?? pleeease?
  19. Tess- it's great that they are going to family - however , that early rehoming , no matter how wonderful the new owners does not make up for all those absolutely CRUCIAL lessons learned while with mum,at that age - when their brains can properly process information like adult dogs .. You might enjoy reading this :) CLICK HERE
  20. Tess- where does teh time go! Wow! Did you vet explain about vaccinating while pups are still feeding/immunity levels etc ? And that vacc's take some time to work - or that so much education takes place in this vital 5-8 week period - education by Mum & littermates which go a long way in setting doggy manners, reactions to other dogs , and social behaviours. I am glad though that you have worked so hard to get them to this stage :D
