  1. perhaps because most of her training was done downstairs? She learned to go out that door .. but 'that door' is not upstairs- so she doesn't know what to do ! Also often a dog's desire to toilet is triggered bu the feel of what is under their feet - grass & carpet can feel similar ... It's like some litter trained cats will use beanbags !
  2. *kirty* How devastating for you My Hamlet went in a very similar way .... and all I could do was take his pain away forever... Be very kind to you today .... know I'm thinking of you ....
  3. ..not sure - but for veggies , i would suggest a little green leafy stuff like spinach ..a little green beans ..maybe zucchini, carrot ,& no cabbage/cauli/broccoli for a while ... that family tend to upset human bellies- so maybe pups' as well :) AS for bones - chicken wings ..chicken feet , lamb ribs ,
  4. keep wagging, Chisel ... So sorry ,pesh - he looked so handsome :) Take care
  5. I really don't think he needs spirulina ;) Try cutting back on the coconut oil as well - give him a 1/4 teaspoon, then gradually increase to 1/2 ? He's only little...and it is pure fat - which can cause tummy upsets ... Maybe, when he gets slowly back onto his normal food - break the veg up and use in his 3 meals ..divide that tablespoonful into 3 ? What veg do you use, by the way?
  6. and remember your puppy is still a baby ..his digestive system is possibly not as adept as an adult's at handling the tough stuff yet ;) our baby pups get whole carrots & apples .. so it takes them AGES to get through one ..and they chew of little bits at a time - when they want - they aren't just given X amount to eat then & there . Dogs don't really need much vegetable at all - how much are you feeding , in proportion to meat /bone?
  7. maybe hold off on raw veggie chunks? Veges are best fed grated/processed finely/cooked - otherwise they are not digested well . I make treats from sweet potato skin .. dried out a bit in teh oven ..or carrots microwaved - so they become rubbery . they are then cut into tiny pieces :) My guys LOVE store bought dried apple slices - given as small bits , too.
  8. crossing fingers the drug will help..... thanks for the update .
  9. why not contact cosmolo by private message or email ?
  10. This is the BEST Dogzonline thread :) It is a VERY long one ..but has every bit of info you need , plus lots of personal stories/recipes/experiences :) CLICK HERE "raw & Natural ChitChat"
  11. Malakita - why look for canned pumpkin? ordinary pumpkin is readily available :) I think it is used in teh US , cos they don't cook with lots of pumpkin, like we do ...
  12. The vet who did the surgery would probably be the best one to advise ....... :)
  13. She looks so happy and shiny :)
  14. I don't really feel he thinks that far ahead ;) That's why I like him - he's pretty honest (so far) - and he uses his nose instead of his eyes . Much more preferable for me .
  15. I think, that if dog can't play appropriately with other dogs - he stays away from them it would be just horrific if he did that to the wrong dog - or a dog with the "wrong" owner! if he enjoys wave chasing and running - he can do that on a long line - while you have a stash of very yummy treats , and are practicing recall, ,and 'stop' ... that sort of thing :)
  16. Very good :) it does take time ..also glad he is comfortable .
  17. LOL ..ermmm, a non canine gorgeous creature is spotted ! :) Smile-worthy pics - thankyou.
  18. maybe the epidural is still making life difficult? before giving him anything - perhaps get the vet to check him out ....?
  19. make sure he has lots of liquid :) Also , some canned food may help for a few days . canned pumpkin is a USA thing - I just use plain boiled/steamed pumpkin - but rarely for constipation. a dose of liquid paraffin or Psyllium husks. are my favourites Mostly though, I have found canned food and extra liquid works ok :) ( use low lactose milk, and or beef/chicken stock (no salt)
  20. Thanks:) I just have to remind myself he is still a 'pup' of 7 mths - sometimes he certainly behaves like a teenager - other times he is so thoughtful .....
  21. Ohhhhh.. I am sorry he had to leave .he is happy now , and stress free . Take care of yourself , and Lulu now .
