  1. i don't understand - why don't owners just feed the dog 1/3, or 1/2 less of normal food ? It'd work fine ..AND cost an awful lost less ;)
  2. T- don't say nice things , just makes me put up another photo! :p
  3. last one for today - promise ;) It is so nice tho to have a dog who I can send somewhere, who will stop, and stay for enough time for me to go "click" at least ;) .....
  4. uh-Oh - don sleeps in a 44 gallon drum (which is under cover , and is supplied with plenty of pillows/blankets which he re organises to his liking .)
  5. Not experienced - but this doesn't sound a match made in heaven - Someone with much more experience will be along to help you :)
  6. ahhhh :D thanks. Thought there must be a logical reason :p
  7. Frost? LOL. NO idea - there are the odd single white hairs appearing on other bits of body as well.................................. Hmmmm....
  8. :) dogs will be dogs .....bet she smells nicer now .
  9. that looks very nasty. It certainly looks infected, whatever it is . At first glance it looks like folliculitis which has been lurking for some time .... Hopefully the antibiotics will start to settle it down soon! meanwhile, I suggest a good diet - maybe an ester C supplement , and small amounts of things like plain yoghurt, egg, oily sardines - if he is not getting them already . Oh :) and a face wipe/wash in calendula tea may help soothe and heal .It will also help control bacteria/spores , etc ....
  10. Hamlet, aka Honey-Bunch Beautiful boy! he was , indeed ..and I miss him every day.
  11. and Hamlet - just to show the difference/similarity ...
  12. their colouring was very similar ..but Hamlet had no undercoat .., and longer ears because of the cocker mum , I guess
  13. Oh..and Don now has white hairs on his ears! ..almost salt&pepper!!! Weird. You can see it sort of glistening in that top fuzzy ear pic :)
  14. especially since it is really only the second time the pups have been introduced to strangers! I was impressed :) their mum has been known to climb in a guest's swag on a cold night - giving folks a very rude shock! ;)
  15. Today Ess, Don & their mum found some very willing dog cuddlers ;) we had visitors ....
  16. perhaps because most of her training was done downstairs? She learned to go out that door .. but 'that door' is not upstairs- so she doesn't know what to do ! Also often a dog's desire to toilet is triggered bu the feel of what is under their feet - grass & carpet can feel similar ... It's like some litter trained cats will use beanbags !
  17. *kirty* How devastating for you My Hamlet went in a very similar way .... and all I could do was take his pain away forever... Be very kind to you today .... know I'm thinking of you ....
  18. ..not sure - but for veggies , i would suggest a little green leafy stuff like spinach ..a little green beans ..maybe zucchini, carrot ,& no cabbage/cauli/broccoli for a while ... that family tend to upset human bellies- so maybe pups' as well :) AS for bones - chicken wings ..chicken feet , lamb ribs ,
  19. keep wagging, Chisel ... So sorry ,pesh - he looked so handsome :) Take care
  20. I really don't think he needs spirulina ;) Try cutting back on the coconut oil as well - give him a 1/4 teaspoon, then gradually increase to 1/2 ? He's only little...and it is pure fat - which can cause tummy upsets ... Maybe, when he gets slowly back onto his normal food - break the veg up and use in his 3 meals ..divide that tablespoonful into 3 ? What veg do you use, by the way?
