  1. Very good :) it does take time ..also glad he is comfortable .
  2. LOL ..ermmm, a non canine gorgeous creature is spotted ! :) Smile-worthy pics - thankyou.
  3. maybe the epidural is still making life difficult? before giving him anything - perhaps get the vet to check him out ....?
  4. make sure he has lots of liquid :) Also , some canned food may help for a few days . canned pumpkin is a USA thing - I just use plain boiled/steamed pumpkin - but rarely for constipation. a dose of liquid paraffin or Psyllium husks. are my favourites Mostly though, I have found canned food and extra liquid works ok :) ( use low lactose milk, and or beef/chicken stock (no salt)
  5. Thanks:) I just have to remind myself he is still a 'pup' of 7 mths - sometimes he certainly behaves like a teenager - other times he is so thoughtful .....
  6. Ohhhhh.. I am sorry he had to leave .he is happy now , and stress free . Take care of yourself , and Lulu now .
  7. he doesn't show much inclination to chase things - and I hope it stays that way!! :)
  8. Well- 'the boss' actually mentioned booking him in for desexing in the not too distant future ..... ;)
  9. Oh..and if she is not aware of just how bad "backyard breeding " can be .... perhaps show her this link .LINK. CAUTION . Do NOT open just to see ..... it is really bad :( headline : </h1>
  10. You will probably get more advice if you repost this in GENERAL- breeders community is small , and is restricted as to who can answer - and the problem is really nothing to do with breeding ;)
  11. same dad - our Freddie . Hamlet's mum was a cocker spaniel !
  12. this is our old Leo. semi retired , in double figures, and as a yard worker and goat musterer, is showing the effects now . He is a lovely boy ...spent most of yesterday perched on the toolbox in the 4WD ...disappointed that we didn't go anywhere exciting! My brother has had a few offfers to buy him over the years - Someone was willing to part with $5,000 !
  13. Glad it seems to be nothing serious . give the vaccine a week or so to work properly - just remember before then to get puppy used to collar and leash - to NOT pulling on leash when you walk him around the yard , and practice "sit" , etc :) . as for meeting "nice dogs" ... please do NOT take him to a dog park as a puppy - there are way too many things which can go wrong You will get helpful information from the following :) http://www.dolforums...-socialisation/ also , this is interesting :) http://www.dogstarda...axonomy/term/34 Oh, and to help him like the kennel - pile in some opshop blankets ..or a couple of 'fleecy' blankets from a" $2 shop ".Wash these first, then have them on your couch or bed for a couple of days , so they get your scent on them - this way , pup will find them something of comfort :) Dogs like sleeping in a "nest" of bedding ..
  14. Glad it all worked out! :)
  15. Like to see that pic re enacted in a year's time! :) Lovely .
  16. yes This is one puppy who is being thought about and cared for :)
  17. he will need LOTS to do and things of his own :) as suggested a clam shell sand pit cardboard cartons to jump on/chew up . balls of various sizes ..but none smaller than a tennis ball! (choking risk) tough toys that squeak. tough "soft toys' which he can shake and carry and throw ... get a soft drink bottle ..and place his dry food in there .. sprinkle some out first - so he knows - then leave him to it! It might take him an hour or two to get the food , which is perfect! he is occupied , and busy ,and getting food :) kennels are not automatically used //dogs like to choose their own safe and comfortable spot to sleep :) I have seen dogs take days and days to finally sleep in a new kennel - it is not what they are used to - the dark , or enclosed space may be a bit much for them ... you and pup have a lot to learn about each other ;) look around for things like this little Youtube video :)
  18. Oh, Raineth .. gently is a wonderful way to live, and to leave life. I am full of admiration for you & the way you let Digby enjoy his life , and how you allowed him to slowly come to its end . Take care of yourself - x Digby - hope you & your ice-cream covered floppychops are happy over the bridge -
