  1. ..also - there is probably no advantage to using a fabric softener on his bedding - maybe try without ? after all - it is a chemical which remains on/in the fabric with which he's in contact ....
  2. OK....as long as that is well understood - and no one pushes the boundaries :)
  3. the wariness of men could be a problem ..esp as your friend lives alone ... think hard about what may escalate if the only men she sees are workers/folks with noisy kids , etc ... I am also wondering why she is being rehomed .Did they not say anything in the ad/enquiry?

    Humping

yes & no .. a bit of excitement humping happens ... change the bedding so it's flatter ..only put teh cuddly stuff on at night . occupy her well with treat balls and interactive toys ..and keep her mind busy with several very short training sessions each day - see if that helps
  5. Yes- be careful . if the dog is in anyway fearful /shy ... fat .... noisy . Check if dog is wary of men is it OK physically - no kneecaps slips etc which is why perhaps it doesn't exercise ... teeth good .. vaccs/HW etc done /desexing done Check allergies is it OK with other dogs/people/noises when walking ?
  6. well, if the owner said that- and the dog is mature - all may be fine . Then again , hopefully dog is not a 'keg on legs'
  7. This is a LONG time ago ..but my mini was a rabbiter..would run miles ..and was hardly ever still - she was my perfect companion, being a bush kid- always on the move :) When I had to go to boarding school - she apparently sat by my pushbike in the shed and didn't eat for days ...
  8. not really - they are terriers ,and lively . I guess how 'elderly ' and how much training/walking/ 'doing stuff' would be done .... ?
  9. they are not a 'registered breed' as such but I'm sure of you google there will be clubs/breeders :) I had one when I was a kid - she was tough and very loyal :)

  11. those boots look way too hot to wear all day There are videos on youtube of military dogs wearing similar ones in deserts in the Middle East. I'm guessing the material is nice and breathable thanks :)

  14. ..at least leather is a help . Unfortunately, boots are most often made for cold/damp conditions All Weather Muttluks provide protection for hot or cold climate conditions. Protects paws from hot pavement, hot sand, burrs, ice, snow or salt. Self-tightening straps provide a secure fit. Reflective straps for nighttime visibility Genuine leather soles for a soft flexible fit. Comfortable adjustable stretchy leg cuff Machine washable.
  15. you don't need to pour it .. I use a sponge - warm the liquid..and part hair on a longer haired dog ..then rub on/in with the sponge .
  16. give him a chewy biscuit or bone - or a toy that he LOVES ? Don't talk to him at all - apart from using your toilet word ..and praise when he does .....
  17. why not try calendula tea ? it's great for all sorts of things :) read about it HERE!!
  18. the all weather muttluks look promising , thankyou. At least they have leather! LOL they don't have fleece, or padding or fiddly fasteners - all a big plus! A review I read said they were the "Mercedes Benz" of dog boots. :D

  21. Ok - a vet that isn't comncerned with 'a little vomit' when dogs are being investigated for illnesses would worry me. Some detective work : In the backyard ..are any structures made of the green treated pine? What sort of water containers do they drink from? Do they drink from a pond or anything? What detergents/carpet cleaners do you use? How often (if any) do you flea bomb thehouse? What insect control do you use around the house/yard? I can't remember if the dogs have any bought treats/toys - what do they chew on ? Do dogs spend time in a shed or workshop or similar? Do they share your shower/bath?
  22. ha!- thought I'd found some nice leather ones ............... except they were used during WW2 !!
