our family's first family dog was a lab ..way back 50 years ago ... She just was treated like a(outside, mostly) dog ..and we all survived very well. I remember going to town and collecting this puppy out of the freight car - she came from breeders in "the city" ... *sigh* Brilliant kids' dog /nanny -.

We also changed to Barko from Bonnie - and now use dog pro working dog with raw food. and have not had a problem. We have more than 4 - so yes - money is to be considered :)

it does have a strong smell - yes. we used that for years for our working dogs - but have now gone to Dogpro working dog kibble , which they do well on , after getting a few bags of barko with weevils in ....

Must admit to feeding puppies a bit like that lady - food is left adlib for the first few weeks - then there are several meals a day provided. We also use supercoat dry , which despite not being classed as a "good" food has grown our puppies well- provides puppies with the ingredients to produce little mini-log poos ..and keeps the weight nice. They get chicken wings /lamb ribs ..and also BIG bones with lots of meat on, so they chew the meat off over a period of maybe a half hour :) Your girl will get used to eating 3 or 4 times a day .. especially if one meal is a nice chicken wing - :) ( I don't use necks, as the shape of them scares me - they can be swallowed lengthwise and cause a blocked throat .) She isn't fussy at all - just reacting to all the changes - and wondering why the food is different . :)

:) On any day , you would see so many photographs which contain items never in the original scene , believe me! If I alter an image - it is usually pretty obvious :)

I cannot lie - they are a part of the app - different flocks can be chosen and placed ;) I do not call this a photo, really , it is a creation .

You need new trainers. Simple. perhaps mention to the trainer that they may need to rethink this whole training position thing .... How awful for you - when you are putting so much time & effort & worry into raising Ernie ! You have the dog indoors when convenient .. spend heaps of time with him doing family stuff - he has, structure, training and company and he has his own space AND IS HAPPY TO BE THERE!! Important and wonderful :)

Glad his breath has improved :) you might want to give him things like brisket bones or frozen turkey necks (whole) - a bit less likely to chip his teeth , or splinter ;)

Friends used to live on a large boat - they had the most amazing GSD .. perfect .... he loved everyone , enjoyed visitors /kids , anyone . EXCEPT when he was 'on duty' One night two young fellas decided to rob the boat. Fine ..they got on ... gained entry to a room ... and that's where they were when the owners found them Scared absolutely witless - one bitten ..and quite happy for the nice policemen to take them away . That was His way ..yep - His boat was a bit like the Hotel California . "check in any time you like, but you can never leave"

Something for OH to do now then - roof the pen /block the holes . problem is , if a snake gets in- has a BIG feed .. they often can't get out of the small holes again !

What can I do about him...OH has gone fishing (he'd know what to do) I certainly don't fancy grabbing hold of that giant head & trying to stuff him in a bag....even if I could get him in a bag...I wouldn't know what to do with him then Are they only active at night if you have a nice clean plastic garbage bin ... (or a chaff bag or even a doona cover ;) ) lay it down in front of him - and use a broom or something to get him to crawl in? put lid on. (or cover with shadecloth so snake doesn't overheat/suffocate and quickly relocate ;) I have done this with brown snakes ..so a carpet snake 'should' be less problematic
