  1. I suspect they are just playful - maybe it's cooler- maybe they've been somewhere new- maybe they have just had a good day :)
  2. how often do you notice the behaviour? If she is in season , it should only be twice a year .
  3. Oh my - that face is the cutest:) :) Glad all is going well - drains can be annoying .
  4. it is a similar infection, I think ... and I vote betadine scrub as the BEST thing for the horse version ..dog version , scrub, then apply betadine solution. The betadine works almost instantly to kill bacteria/fungal infection ..and by doing it a couple of times a day , the skin gets a chance to heal cleanly :)
  5. poor boy - bet he feels awful hope he settles overnight with another dose of A/H .
  6. real bull ants? Inch ants? get rid of them !! Must admit ..he is braver than I , if he did get bitten - I screamed the place down - the pain was like someone had driven a red hot knife into my leg! Bull ants can cause all sorts of problems ! perhaps ..and I have no idea if dogs get it - but MSG affects me the same - hives/pain and much discomfort. I do not eat sausages anymore, cos most have MSG in
  7. ..eek - be careful at the hockey then! least she has the protection of a crate ;)
  8. looks like a perfect hot spot . clip/clean /keep dry routine :) betadine is excellent ! Try & stop dog licking at it /do not cover it ..the little bugs LOVE moisture/warmth .
  9. Mrs RB . may I ask why you take your dog to hockey - crate her and , I presume, play ?
  10. Terri - well done! I LOVE the "De-constructed Christmas Lunch idea " :)
  11. if you're out all day - just make sure she doesn't get fed before you go ...give her a long walk/run ..and leave her with treat balls/large iceblock with treats frozen in ... and enjoy yourself . *thinks that she could never go anywhere and put dog in crate during the visit*
  12. They do :) I guess I am being cautious , after the very rocky start they had with this little girl ..and how anxious she was ... It was meant as more of a reassuring comment than me disregarding the owners anxiousness :) Ok ...
  13. it will not be 'good' anymore - any oils will be rancid ..and nutrients depleted/gone.
  14. They do :) I guess I am being cautious , after the very rocky start they had with this little girl ..and how anxious she was ...
  15. Whimpering and shivering can be anxiety/coming down off the anaesthetic .... their temperature regulator can be upset somewhat.... if she sees the laundry as safe - and being the worrywort she is - I would DEFINITELY use the laundry . She doesn't need the stress of being somewhere different - not after all the trouble you had with her from the beginning ,,,, make sure she can be either snuggledin lots of bedding , or lie on the floor to get cool - give her water ..and leave her quiet and undisturbed . As she hasn't eaten or drunk much, toileting may not even happen .... *BREATHE* :)
  16. Why not just leave her home? non one really enjoys the visits, it seems , so why do it? Give her something special , like a huge ice cream container iceblock ... and go visit :)
  17. Thank you, maffra - if folks ask - say 'nothing- it's his style ' :)
  18. Lots of dogs have one or both floppy ears :) As long as he is healthy and happy , why interfere?
  19. Coopex may indeed get rid of some fleas - also earthworms, ladybirds- crickets ...... a very drastic measure . Fleas are more likely to be inside, as they like warm, secluded spots like carpets, under mats/deep in furniture - that sort of thing - so flea-bombing the house may be sensible . Clipping and application of something really only needs doing if there is any skin damage - skin looks red or mucky . Calendula would be terrific in the case of chewing because of itches . :)
  20. What's wrong with macadamias? Never done it, just curious. I give a little mango, Apple and strawberry. Not much so it doesn't go through them. they are quite toxic . A friend shared a few with her dog ..and dog collapsed , had to be rushed to the vet , and was a few days getting back to neurologically normal.! it was an expensive lesson
  21. I used to train a dog who would ,ever so gently, pick her own blackberries :) LOL Does Dante eat lemons????? or just the peel?
  22. Oh - our dogs pick up walnuts from under the tree and shell them to enjoy the treat inside - they love them . NEVER FEED MACADAMIAS .
  23. Sounds like some of ours as well - they will use up whatever is in there- even if it's not ready to be evacuated! Tops of bushes are a favourite spot to leave a deposit . Excitement/stress does add to the frequency when on walks ... . if it were mine- I'd not fiddle with diet yet . Does this dog do the same thing whatever the environment? park /beach /controlled walk around a few blocks/walking in a built up area?
  24. Not a 'bad idea' ;) Our dogs love bananas- apples are one of their first toys! They also enjoy strawberries/pears/tomatoes & figs. :)
