hi again :) BEFORE you get a new pup/dog is the BEST time to start learning- researching breed is important - however, MORE important is learning wht to expect :) WHY does dog do x,y,z ... how do I understand what pup is telling me ? How do I teach dog to come/sit/walk/not jump... The following links are full of info - much of it useful - some not applicable- but all of interest, and handy to store away , just in case! definitely REPORT .... calmly and with facts .... You had witnesses/and should have a detailed vet report - do not let vet say ..Oh yeah , looks a bit sore ..... Oh ..and take dogs out again ASAP - drive them somewhere and wander around a park or something for 10 minutes :) Let them have a good sniff session , and an explore :) A point to think on : walking VERY slowly - noticeably slower than normal - may be interpreted to other dogs as a dog either being ill/injured, or perhaps as a dog 'sussing things out' ..and being intrusive .Either way , a dog behaving a bit abnormally is more prone to being misinterpreted/attacked, IMO.

that is a whole lot of cute white :)

It could be an infection , or it could be a hormonal thing which affects the muscles controlling urine flow - either way the vet can help :) DON'T GOOGLE

Ok- she may be hot .? the other dog may move around about that time, waking teh pup- who then gets frustrated and barks to get out ...? she may be going to bed too early?

He is pretty damn cute, indeed!

3 weeks old - into everything - digging in the sand ... chewing toes, eating and drinking from bowls .... loves climbing on old tyres and things.... Thankfully he doesn't appear to be a yipper /barker . eyes/ears, everything seems to be working fine - which is always a good thing!

I Need Some Urgent Info On Gut Biopsies Please

hair testing seems a good resource :) It was thru testing hair samples that Emperor napoleon was found to have suffered from arsenic poisoning - it is used forensically I believe to check mineral /toxin levels ... -
basically it will be a matter of teaching puppy to WATCH ... so my suggestions would be to reward every eye contact ... to only feed this way - not from a bowl...... that sort of thing . I hope she has told the breeder - this is important for a breeder to keep a record of :)

Where would you suggest I look for one? The 'Mature Dog' section of dogzonline.com? That may help - or go to General Dog Discussion - and ask this as a new thread/post :) Explain that you are thinking of XYZ breed/s - and are seeking a young adult ? Once you decide on a breed - you may also find one on the pet rescue pages- or the pages of whatever breed it is :) an example- a Goldie rescue page HERE a Westie Rescue page , HERE Good luck :)

good for you in doing research :) Sounds as if the dog will be in your parents' care a LOT . This means that they also have a say in the breed- accommodation, house rules, all that stuff ..Something to consider ! THEY will be the ones who have to cope with a piddling pup inside --- the runs to the vet , the chewing of stuff .... Would you be willing to search for a young , but not puppy dog ? That way you and your parents would stand a better chance of a dog slotting in to the household with less drama ...

How exciting!! are you a first timer? will dog be indoors or outdoors mostly? do you have kids? What activities will you & dog be doing? ("walks" don't count , as they are pretty much essential;) ) What is it you love about each breed you mentioned? Do they have anything in common you like? Oh - and if you want a puppy who is healthy and from a family which has been well bred by an ethical and caring breeder- you may have to wait longer than the 3/4 months to get what will suit you best :)

trust me - a 2 litre icecream container full of water & goodies , if placed in a large bowl in the shade will last a bit longer than an hour - and longer than a frozen coconut. making them in soft drink bottles I haven't heard of that idea - how is the dog going to chew & lick the food out ? ;)
