  1. The lad's growing up. here he is this morning on a table, eyeing off clothes line perching Apostlebirds :)
  2. Thunderstorms are when you get the BEST treats & games ..& go outside to play your favourite game :)
  3. I love your son :) What a great thing to do . You've done well with the photos, too :)
  4. I worked at a vet's many years ago - and we had good results with this :) is your dog having problems ?
  5. if someone likes a particular breeders' lines.. or likes the support /health care the breeder supplies they will want a pup- interstate or not :) I certainly don't think it is unusual :)
  6. It is a bit sore , no doubt ... but he certainly has NO idea of what his testicles were, let alone feeling "violated " :)
  7. SO hoping for a happy day or two ... we do need Bru pics :)
  8. I hope you have a more relaxed weekend .. thinking of you :)
  9. Talking it over with Steve is indeed the wisest choice, as he knows you, your dogs and your situation :)
  10. I agree - why expose her to other dogs if she reacts like that ? She doesn't 'have' to like or play with others of her kind - esp as she has her sibling , training, and a wonderful doggy yard!! Also, I would be concerned that your boy may pick up on her behaviour , and react in ways you won't enjoy Another who strongly suggests a reputable and recommended behaviourist .Feel free to ask on here for names !!
  11. Just make sure he gets some fluid tonight .. and get some sleep . Tomorrow will be a big day .
  12. I prefer to not have things too warm ..as then puppies may not gravitate toward mum , and she may not gather them in ;) Just make sure the chill is off the air ,...(have you thought about one of these ? they are fantastic, and safe! ) and whelping box is preferably like a 'den/cave' to keep bodywarmth trapped in there .
  13. swazzie - That diagnosis certainly sounds very bad - so yes, a specialist opinion will either confirm and explain and guide - or perhaps give other news. I wish you all the strength needed .
  14. being optimistic here ..depending where it is ..did they mention a resection? Anyhow - get your second opinion - and ask for a written report - as you may not be in a state to absorb the info - this shouldn't be a problem , and will give you something to study .
  15. Ok - I would get the second opinion now , ASAP - no use waiting any longer, if he seems to be losing weight so quickly .And, if the diagnoses match - then you know . It is indeed , such a quick decline , that it seems decisions need to be made fast . SO sorry for you all - take lots of happy photos ...and cuddle your boy lots ..
  16. Don't think you HAVE to have a puppy to have a strong relationship :) My absolute favourite 'heart dog' as an adult was obtained by me at 2 yrs of age - we bonded in a short time - to the extent of him escaping from a commercial kennel situation, finding my car in the car park , and squeezing in the 1/2 open window , to sit on the the driver's seat !! What could I do , but take him home ? No way would I recommend a puppy to anyone with little kids ..yes, lots of families do it , but , as stated , it's like having another baby in the house!! Toilet training, chewing, illness, cleaning, play rules, vet visits, innoculations, entertaining, toys everywhere- AND the kids need to be trained as well ;)
  17. Good plan! If a professional is reachable- why struggle all by yourself? :)
  18. So, what does K9pro say ? as they have a deal of input, and know your pup MUCH better than we do , I feel it would be wise to ask them :)
