What Mulch When Puppy Likes To Eat Wood/bark/etc?
persephone replied to Staycalm's topic in Puppy Chat
I shouldn't ...but ... LOL What a mix!!!! :) Ok ... perhaps make him a dig pit - full of sand /clean straw /kongs/ big bones /nylabones and deer antlers? That is HIS spot to play . It needs to be big enough for him to stand in & dig in several places ..perhaps 1.5 metre X 2 metres? And deep enough to get a decent dig ;) I would not bother with weedmat just yet ..Imagination is painting images of a very satisfied puppy after pulling it all up/out, and dragging it 'round the yard -

It isn't the controversy which is a concern - D O L thrives on controversy ;) Sometimes these situations have legal ramifications to them ..and telling stories in public is often very unwise I wish you and pup all the best - pls give us an update ? :) -
oh. wow. :hug:What an ordeal for everyone . I hope the old boy feels much more comfortable now :)

LOL - imagining trapping 12 kg ferals here and taking to the vet for desexing! NOT. !

I have NFI who 'Morrissey' is .cecil the lion? not really . They are not indigenous, or in countable numbers, or popular with tourists....I love cats - and feel ill at the thought of masses of poisonings etc ...however , it would be SO much better for Australia as a whole ...we used to have possums, ground nesting birs and small mammals - over the past 40 yrs, cats & foxes have decimated our wildlife.Morrissey should come watch a feral cat take down a goatling or lamb - yes it IS like a lion ...but.....

H WDO it :)

:) Actually, his coat is NOT soft .. the ruff is quite coarse ..he's a good model - anything for attention ;)

It's been a little while .the gremlin is now old enough to spend more time with The Boss - and has had some experience with feral goats .The Boss has decided Smoke will either be brilliant - or dead , as his idea of controlling billygoats is to grab their beards ,& hang on!! Oh Dear.... he is excellent at running under bellies to get from one side of a yard to the other ..and apart from being car sick , is doing OK.

Look at them ... almost real dogs now ;)
-
yes, I agree - the breeder would probably have been aware . if so - then sending you a pup with problems is at the least , certainly not good practice. Glad you have sought advice from the kennel club, too. take it slow ... do some thinking ..and hope it works out for you all :)
-
Hi - how disappointing .I hope you have contacted the breeder- they need to be made aware- ..... I would also advise reading this . http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/262328-knuckling-over/

he was so good! :)

My hope is that the kids have now had it shown them that dogs can be dangerous .That they should NOT go poking around other folks' property , and that not everything can be fixed.it makes me sad , so many kids ( and young adults ) lack life experience . I know- many have way more than their share :( .Dogs are all seen as cute & fluffy ..respect for others, and their possessions is often lacking ... So very sad for everyone . The dogs were possibly carrying on behind that fence ... who knows how stirred up they were?

Turn sound down ..it is kinder on the ears . enjoy!!

Perhaps take your guy to flyball or something?
-
:) They won't get bigger faster ;) You are doing well ...just now gradually change them to a really good meat source , a good puppy formula ..and watch them eat! they must be so cute !!

that dog had its tongue caught in some sort of soft plastic ball - a 'pimple ball' , which is NOT made by KONG. It was a horrible accident. from SNOPES On 26 August 2008, the toy's manufacturer placed a notice on its site advising that the toy in question was being recalled from the market and replaced with a redesigned version: Four Paws is deeply concerned about reports of injuries suffered by some dogs as a result of a manufacturing defect in some of its Pimple Ball with Bell toys. In August 2008, we stopped shipping all potentially affected toys and implemented a recall directing all our distributors to have retailers remove them from their shelves and return them at Four Paws expense. We have since redesigned both the toys and packaging to insure this defect will not occur again. Please be assured that the safety and well being of pets is and always will be Four Paws top priority.
