He is TWO !! Born around Christmas time I have no idea where the time's gone ....
-
it may not be, but I'd be worried that it is an O C D behaviour It would be interesting to see exactly what happens - is there any common factor ? A sound, action, time when it happens ....all that sort of thing . How many revolutions does the dog do -- one or two, then lose interest ..or can it go on for a couple of minutes?
-
:) The dogs don't mind people laughing at them, I'm sure ....and it's dogs being dogs, at least - not 'artistic' grooming, or dogs walking a tightwire ;)
-
Is there an aspect of it you think is not quite right? The distance is tiny - 20 metres, just across a normal small house-block front yard (even an unfit doggie would not be over-worked). Daxies can move - they are fast and clever at lure-coursing. Good to have an activity that might inspire owners to do some fitness walks to prepare. Ha! I would love to see them coursing! they are such bright dogs ...and full of determination :)

Dear Don - he is SUCH a treat when there is nothing to chase he can only go off lead when I am absolutely sure there are no rabbits/roos/sheep within about 300 mtrs - otherwise he'll find 'em !! My fault, I know - and hopefully one day my training motivation will return ... my dogs suffer because of it these days . *looks at Don lying under the table , chewing on a beef spare rib ...* Oh ..and, after a couple of years - Don has finally matured ! He is now built like a brick dunny .. solid and square, (with what The Boss describes as a 'wolf mouth' )..... and his bark has dropped an octave or two!! Just the last few days we noticed this deep WOOF and thought it was old Leo . Nope it's the new boofheaded Don . :) Gotta love testosterone sometimes ....

:) What fun ! Should be more things like this - dogs are meant to move ....

I can't understand why you cannot buy raw? Turkey necks/beef/mince, meat offcuts , lamb hearts are all available at supermarkets/butchers ..(and eggs, yoghurt & sardines are pretty much everywhere ) psyllium husks for fibre , or some cooked celery i have no experience of this problem - hope your boy can remain stable ..and that you get some more ideas . poor old lad . -
Haven't ever owned one .. but loved any I've come in contact with :)

A soft plastic basket muzzle will stop the chewing ;) I hope she doesn't get re-plastered - that really sounds like over kill . My boy had LOTS of bandaging ..I watched his op being done .... the surgeon made the groove deeper, re-located tendons .... gave me grey hairs ;) Anyhow - he had a knee which withstood all types of hunting /sheep working /racing around for the rest of his life :) -

. Most animals , if their needs are not met , or if they receive rough treatment, may react in ways humans don't like .Dogs might chew up the power cords, the pillows, or expensive shoes .Inappropriate urination can occur with most animals .... -

How can you tell if they are registered breeders? they will be registered with their state's kennel control ..they will have a prefix - like "Po po poms' .. and they will have pedigrees available . THIS explains it well :) excerpt : -

If you want a companion /house pet -, and an introduction to living with an animal , something to groom , to play with, and snuggle with - why not consider a cat ? There are some breeds who are 'dog-like' in their behaviour - and they can be taught tricks etc .Cats are also content to sleep all day if there is nothing else happening ....and are more likely to find their own fun without yapping and having neighbours complain ;)
