Oh dear - I was very polite ..and perhaps I am being 'superior' someone mentions poisoning weeds in their brand new veggie patch . people gently try & steer them away from using this method . turns out partner is horticulturally employed. I offer links to methods great for a small patch ..esp as they are going away , so leaving areas covered in something would be perfect! nope. then concern at keeping the dog out . yep. The "fence' would maybe keep out a geriatric guinea pig.... Oh well - :)

Well, gee, Willem. You totally nailed it, there, and really burned me in the process. Excuse me while I rethink everything I thought I knew about dog training. I'll be in my ivory tower playing checkers with pigeons. And here I was thinking you played chess with chickens... of course not, silly :) Corvus uses pigeons, 'cos of the magnets in their heads ! I'm a bit of a Columbid devotee, and I've never been very good at chess. :D It's possible a chicken may actually beat me at chess even as it's scattering the pieces and soiling the board. :) :)

Dear sweet little Miss Molly . Dog of much slinkiness and sookiness. Dog with the pirhana-like snaps when the mood takes her. Dog with the gentleness of a little fairy Dog with the eating habits of a well bred socialite Dog with determination! Dog who doesn't wait for the kitchen door to be opened . Dog who just climbs/jumps through the grille and flyscreen ( which is now more of a curtain !) Dog who is immensely pleased with her effort and climbs onto The Boss's lap to smooch .........and lives to tell the tale! BITCH :)

They are even cuter than lab puppies ;) Thanks for the info on vertical feeding , too! I have only ever seen aspiration pneumonia/choking when babies ... dog/cow/lamb have been bottle fed . I am so pleased we are getting lots of photos -

Molly is DEFINITELY a stayer !! We were visiting . Oh my - Molly is my little shadow - and my bed time 'teddy bear' ...

With few opportunities for my guys to socialise/try new stuff rare - I was SO very grateful last night :) The friends almost drowned Molly in gazes of adoration ..and they were both almost crying with disappointment at not being able to touch her . She would look at them and give a tentative tail wag when they talked to her - and was extremely happy to curl up on the couch ( they have dogs of their own ..and yes, couches & beds are allowed) . Pudden enjoyed the snack ..and being searched for fleas ;) WE enjoyed steak & salad & conversation :)

Secret is what I would call a gorgeous little mystery puppy with a wonderful future :)
