Chihuahua That Shakes His Head Constantly

The limping is possibly a patella issue ..the organised eating is fine ... I have a dog that does a very similar thing - but the head shaking is worthy of some more attention -
Chihuahua That Shakes His Head Constantly

There are certainly more reasons for head shaking than an ear problem -- if he were mine I would definitely be getting more tests done or seeing another vet . It really isn't comfortable for him, and would also be causing some pain ... Seems he needs relief NOW , and if money is a big problem , and you cannot afford tests/medication ,you may need to talk about other options .. -

Degenerative Myelopathy And Then Vestibular Disease
persephone replied to nelsona's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh dear .... he has had enough, his body has given up . He is now not 'living' ..his is an existence only as he cannot do any doggy behaviours anymore ....and all he wants from you now is a peace and release from this life. He will be in discomfort and , as humans are supposed to be the wise ones, we have decisions to make ..not for US..but for our dogs . Never forget these words of wisdom : "better a day too early than a day too late " to you ... -
be at peace , Fleming ..your mum gave you that gift ...

yep - it's his fault we have a menagerie :p

That breeder still needs his name given to the authorities ! Even if there are no steps taken - they will be aware of his way of doing things . -

Spitting In Dogs Mouths
persephone replied to Jackfeatherfoot's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
- it's like holding the dog's nose in your armpit . the basis is that the dog gets to be close to the owner ..and I guess someone who cares to do anything like this will care for their dog anyhow - and this will reflect in their dog's behaviour . being a pack member has benefits :) -

Hi - I would not go on any recommendation from that breeder - at all. I would also suggest you stay away from any of the same bloodlines . "looking nice", as you now know is not really important Definitely be guided by folks know the breed on here..and try to not be in a hurry . You might find helpful ideas HERE and HERE> responsible and ethical breeders will have pups vet checked ..have all the health details of parents' health tests for genetic problems ..and provide you support for puppyhood, if not a LIFETIME . -
!! Sounds like severe injuries .Nasty.

Oh, Darby . Thank you for updating us on the poor little mite. it definitely sounds as if he was not meant for this earth ..and you giving him his wings is certainly the kindest option now ... The breeder will be , hopefully sent a letter from the vets - so there is no doubt at all he is made aware of what he is selling to people .NO EXCUSE then ... he may not be taking any responsibility , however he will then have all the info - and it may save someone else the heartache ..and save another poor puppy the pain . Thinking of you all ..you are doing the kindest and most generous thing , altho it feels dreadful. -
!!!!! Oh Dear ;)

This year we may have snakes in greater numbers , now there's ground cover and more life. must admit, since I got really serious with mouse baiting , the mouse population has dropped by about 90% ..and so too have snake tracks/snakes seen - esp in the aviary - simply no mice anymore- and that was the main source of the meeces previously . P C it is hard - and I appreciate your sentiments :)

It would be almost impossible to build a snake proof fence around a yard. Look at how snakes are contained in zoos etc- high concrete or other solid fencing! Snakes are remarkable in their agility and speed! All I can suggest is work out why they are coming to the yard???? Is there water?are there hides holes in shrubbery/under wood or sheds? Are there chooks/ aviaries/ people wo feed birds nearby? Any bird/ horse/ pet food will attract mice which are great snake food and which dig tunnels that snakes love to use!

A friend had a lovely dog once .. the happy product of a meeting between purebred English pointer and Greyhound . he was large, yellow & white, long ears ..and just gorgeous . Everyone would ask ..and it got tiring , so the answer became : ":he's a Sherak Hound" . (sherak was this dog's name ) Funnily enough it shut people up - they just thought it was a breed they 'should' know of ;)
