and , I am one who thinks it is irresponsible to walk an in season bitch in areas where there are other dogs ......or to walk a bitch from her house along the streets and let her toilet - leaving a clear trail. ;) It's fine to be confident in your OWN canine - and their responses - it's everyone else you need to worry about- and it is unfair .

you might just trade one inconvenience for the other - 1 or 2 times per year a bitch on heat for spay incontinence all year long ...I always shake my head when I read on one of those de-sexing promoting websites that 'there is a small chance that this can happen' ....but when your actually read about spay incontinence than it suddenly it is a 'common problem' for spayed dogs... In the bitches I have had speyed , only one developed it at a youngish age ..the rest have all been well into double figures, and it is easily managed with specific bedding etc :) ...depends, when you travel with your dog in the car, or someone else car, visiting friends etc. it can be quite stressful as you never know when it will happen... depends on each lifestyle , doesn't it ? An absorbent mat or two, easily carried ..a dog who lies on its own mat ... no different to how I managed castrated dogs... the old girls here just had incontinence pads to sleep on when indoors , a bit of extra care taken with cleanliness ... simple.

I dislike intensely dealing with in season bitches in a city ..it is tricky , and with so many dogs in small area.. the experience can be frustrating to all ! if I lived in a city - desexing would be my first choice!! been there, done that - don't want to do it again ...

Is that it, Willem ? Our working sheep/goat dogs are all entire .. and the bitches work with just as much concentration/skill when they are in season . All it usually means here is that it's a girls' day out ..boys stay home - though the older boy can be easily voice controlled if needs be...

as stated - W A is strict on what enters the state- what is the go with dogs? Not to live ..just for a short period of time . Do they need anything special, or certificates or anything? Thanks.

;) she is enjoying this time - the 'pack' is just us two ( and tallie , & mary ) and she's getting lots more outings in the car ..toast crusts .....

Molly is in season ..so no free running for a while . Lucky I still have one of my old flexi leashes from the old dog training days!! This one is around 30 yrs old - still doing well :)

I know folks who take roo tails to eat ... a fairly safe area parasite/ contamination wise because of the nature of the tissue& & tight skin seal .Unless cut, there is no way any gut contents/ external contaminants or insects can access it.

hello henry ! glad you're keeping the new owner in shape , and sorting out your exercise regime by using the chooks ! well, exercise is good, but chooks - well, you'll get feathers up yr nose, and poo on yr paws ...not pleasant . You will have a wonderful life , learn new things, and be loved . :)

that would be illegal pro shooters supplying meat need pretty much the same hygiene procedures as meat for human consumption from memory .yuk.

I don't use it , as for many years we were involved in the 'harvesting' of macropods for human consumption ..and I kinda lost any enthusiasm for playing around with smelly carcasses .....it's also why I never eat roo meat

Sounds OK for a dog you know ..however with this description : no way would I be trying that technique
