How To Get Dog To Sleep On His Bed?
persephone replied to Cuko13's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
If, as you said before , he is so sore that sometimes he has trouble getting up /walking - perhaps the cool/cold helps the pain? perhaps also , as he is only a youngster , he has had no good experiences of what we think dogs should sleep on ;) With him always having HD .. and pain/weird movement .. maybe he figures concrete doesn't have bumps, doesn't move, & doesn't hold him in an uncomfortable position ? *shrugs* maybe ....? Does he lie on his side ..one side in particular ? or does he lie like a Sphinx statue ? :) -
well, she thinks the dogs are her mob ... "Mulberries? Really ? "

i try to NOT look closely ... the one eating is HUGE .... he will bring a good price . That's the only way I can look at them, otherwise it's heartbreaking ....

..and if he is still in pain ..he may need a small low step or something to help get into/onto it ? use his favourite treats to show him it's a good spot :) -
We don't have free range fowl anymore ..but in teh past our dogs have eaten copious quantities of eggs ..fresh /stolen and wonderful . We didn't ever see any problem .. one old dog used to find nests and eat maybe a dozen in a sitting ... apart from the smell next day .. no problems .

he is probably warm .... as an adjunct - how did the latest vet visit go ? Did you get new Xrays /a new diagnosis of what is causing him so much pain? if dog is outdoors ..maybe get him a sandpit ..dampen it, and it's kinda like 'memory foam ' in that it will curve to suit a dog's body :) the key point about dog beds : the HAVE to be Where the dog feels is relaxing .. and suited to the body type/physical shape of a dog . :) -
What our dogs are needed for - and why they also have to be bloody minded and tough! The Boss & the crew mustered these feral/wild goats over the past week, many thousands of acres, and much dust .'The' truck comes for them tomorrow .... Don & 'Rudolph' Ash & mary mary ...

Professional Plus Dog Kibble.. Anyone Use It?
persephone replied to FlyingFeathers's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
maybe the company is kind to them ? Possibly, but many local companies would be too, if asked. But even if it's free or cheap, you'd think good nutrition should still come first. It actually reminds me of what happened with our local RSPCA- they used to accept all food donations and our local pet meat lady would donate literally trailer-loads of meaty bones and other goodies to them. Then, Hills started sponsoring that branch, all other food donations were refused and now the dogs live on a diet of plain kibble. RSPCA benefits financially, dogs lose lots of mental stimulation and access to an interesting, varied and nutritious diet. -
Yes we only saw a snippet - you're quite right. But that snippet made me do a double take. And please load video of back scratching paw! bit hard to do a selfie of that!! LOL

I believe even small kids are WELL able to distinguish between their own dog and a strange dog :) once again .. it is up to parents to instil respect and knowledge . As kids, we used to do all sorts of things to our dogs ... but would NEVER attempt to try anything on one of the working dogs , let alone a dog we didn't know. Why is it so hard to teach this nowdays? We knew we'd be snapped at by the dog , or chastised by a parent if we did the 'wrong' thing ..simple consequences .So we learned ...
